The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
Juan les Pins is not only a beautiful seaside resort, but Juan les Pins merges seamlessly into Antibes making the area the second largest town on the Cote d'Azur, therefore ensuring there is something to offer everyone. Thanks to the protection of the Southern Alps, the Cote d'Azur has one of the best climates in the world. From March to October temperatures vary from 25c - 38c. During the winter months temperatures vary from 12c - 22c, but with several ski resorts only 1hr 30 mins drive away, were else can you enjoy sunshine, beaches, snow and mountains in one trip.
There is no need for a car whilst staying in Juan les Pins. Public transport is cheap. Buses within the Juan les Pins/Antibes district are 1 euro and it is only 1 euro to travel anywhere along the coast from Cannes (20 mins) right through to Nice, Monaco, Menton and the Italian border.
If travelling by car or train, the views along the coast are beautiful. There is a picturesque single track train route between Nice and Digne des Bains. You can board this from most of the villages along the Var. On Sundays in the summer a steam engine pulls the train.
Another great and relaxing way to get around is by boat. Boat trips to Monaco and the uber glamorous St Tropez are all available from Juan les Pins. There is also a short boat trip to the lovely Iles de Lerins (Island of Lerins) which was once the home of the famous Man in the Iron Mask and now a maritime museum.
Monaco is a great place to visit. It is an independent Principality comprising two towns set on hilltops. the older town of Monaco is full of character with narrow cobbled streets full of cafes and shops, it is here you will find the Royal Palace and the Napoleon Bonaparte museum. Monte Carlo is the newer part which houses the famous casino, which is open to visitors as well as the rich and famous. The Monaco Grand Prix is held each May.
The Stylish and chic Cannes is a mere 8Km (5 miles) away and is perhaps most famous for the Film Festival held each May and the iconic Carlton Hotel. Cannes is worth visiting for its shopping along the famous Croisette with its exclusive designer boutiques but also (and more affordably) the long shopping street running the length of the Rue Antibes.
Cosmopolitan Nice is the largest city on the Cote d'Azur. It enjoys a wealth of traditional architechure and the narrow streets of the old town and their many shops and cafes are great to explore. Nice is also home to a lovely flower market in the Cours Saleya area of the town. A lovely place to stroll is along the Promenade des Anglais which stretches right along the coast alongside the pebble beach. Nice has a carnival every February.
Throughout the region there are many other notable and interesting places to visit - including the picturesque mediaeval villages of Mougins (gastronomic heart of the Cote d'Azur) , Haut de Cagne, Eze and St Paul de Vence (home to many artists and art galleries), Grasse (famous for its world class perfumeries) and Vallauris (known for its ceramics). Castellane and the Gorge de Verdun (the largest gorge in Europe with spectacular scenery), Gorges du Loup.
The region also offers many golf courses including the Royal Mougins, Mandelieu. Boules (petanques), tennis and cycling all easily available.
If you're visiting during the winter months or just want to explore further inland, there are 5/6 ski resorts all available within 1-2 hrs drive away including isola 2000, Valberg and Greolieres sur Neige) snowboarding, hiking, climbing, mountain biking etc.
Antibes / Juan les Pins area
Juan les Pins has some of the loveliest beaches along the Cote d'Azur with fine sand and safe swimming. By day or night in the summer you can enjoy 'al fresco' drinking and dining on the beach with fantastic restaurants serving an array of delicious meals. Excellent golf courses nearby.
Juan les Pins is famous for its world renowned Jazz Festival which takes place during July and its August season of music and firework spectaculars are breathtaking.
There is a great selection of shops and boutiques in Juan les Pins to suit all tastes and pockets thanks to it's popularity as an International destination.
Juan les Pins is also famed for it's plethora of restaurants, bars and nightlife, including a casino.Between Juan les Pins and Antibes there are daily markets selling a variety of fresh local produce. Try the famous Provencal market in Antibes selling fresh vegetables, fish, spices, cheese and much more..
It's a 20 minute walk or 5 minutes bus journey to the walled town of Antibes with its narrow streets, mediaeval ramparts and lovely walks around the famous Cap d'Antibes and Fort Carre. The old town enjoys many pavement cafes, restaurants, churches, art galleries and shops - a treasure to explore. Antibes is also home to the largest private yacht marina in Europe.
How to get there
It is possible to drive to the apartment. We do this and save quite a substantial amount of money. This includes catching a ferry and driving for a long period of time.
However, if flying is more your thing, it only takes about 1.5 hours from any London airport to Nice airport, then only a 30-40 minute drive away from Juan Les Pins. There are plenty of taxis outside the airport.

Further details indoors: To the rear of the apartment the two bedrooms overlook a smaller town road where there is a tabac, bar etc. French life to its maximum. Personally, I feel, for the position, price, size and proximity to facilities you have the self-catering facilities at a fraction of hotel prices in the same area and apartments in Juan les Pins are at a premium!
The two bedrooms share a shower room with basin and WC. Access by wheelchair is simple and the apartment is equipped with a slightly lower breakfast/eating bar in the salon to accommodate this feature. Kitchen area is open to the salon and all apparatus is modern. Fully equipped, open and quite spacious. Ideal for a small family with beach in mind or for younger elements wanting to chill out and relax. The wind-surfing school is within 100 metres from the apartment. Value for money and definitely location.
