The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region

The Cote d'Azur, often known in English as the French Riviera is located on the Southeastern coastline of France. Stretching along the warm, blue waters of the Mediterranean are endless sunny beaches, charming old towns with its quaint streets and glamorous yachts docking in the marinas. In all its glitz and glamour, the snow-capped Alps make a spectacular backdrop where the slopes and the sea are merely an hour apart by car.

The French Riviera enjoys long, warm summers and short, mild winters with the sun legendary shining 320 days a year. During warmer months one can find sunbathers on the beaches of sand or pebbles, roller-bladers and strollers along the Croisette in Cannes, Promenade de l'hippodrome in Cagnes Sur Mer and the Promenade des Anglais in Nice. During winter months the Alps are alive with their snowy peaks and sunny ski resorts, only about an hour's drive towards the north.

Antibes area

The views along the coastal road, Bord de Mer (RN98) are beautiful and can be enjoyed by car or by train. The coastal route from Cannes takes you through Antibes Juan-les-Pins, Nice, Eze-sur-Mer, Beaulieu, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Monaco and on to Ventimiglia in Italy. You can alight at any station along your route to explore a town, then continue your journey.

Guestbook for Les Jardin D'Antibes

"We were delighted with this apartment and we had a great 2 weeks there in July-August 2009. The property was just as described with good quality furnishing and equipment. It was spotless when we arrived and the meet and greet service was most helpful in going throught all the essential details. The lady was very helpful and the information lefft in the apartment regarding places to visit, things to do and other tips such as local car hire firms made our time in Antibes more enjoyable.

The complex was very well maintained, clean & new and the pool was fantastic with a main pool and smaller children's pool which both my daughters (aged 4 and 6 months) loved. Ift was clean, safe and just a few steps from the apartment - heaven on a hot summer day!

There was everything we needed for the children in the apartment and they also enjoyed the garden for outdoor play. We ate all our meals outside even in the heat of the summer. The patio was cool in the morning and it got the afternoon and evening sun - just perfect for relaxing dinners!

We visited Antibes - with several sandy beached, Cap d'Antibes again with several sandy beaches, Nice, Juan les Pins and Cannes.

The apartment is about 500m from main road on which you can get a bus along the coast to Cannes or Nice for 1 Euro! Great way to explore. There is also a little local bus from around the corner which runs every half hour into Antibes and is free.

We hired a car for 5 days which was really worth doing to explore a little further. Best places we went in the car were St Tropez (definitely a must do just to people watch!). We drove to St Maxime and took the boat across to St Tropez to avoid traffic and that was fun. We also enjoyed St Paul de Vence (very beautiful especially after most of the visitors had left!) Great place to go for dinner and enjoy the evening sunset.

In Antibes we enjoyed the cafes and ice-cream shops, local market, Aquasplash and Marineland. We spent a day at both Aquasplash and Marineland (90 Euros for both) - it was expensive but definitely worth it. Our eldest daughter really enjoyed both attractions with the Killer Whale show a must!

We did most of our shopping in the local shops at La Fontonne. Small grocery store, bakery, fruit and veg, chemist, cash point and take away pizza. They were a 5 minute walk from the apartment.

We had a great time at the apartment and would definitely recommend for a relaxing place to stay in the South of France. " - Review by Jane from UK

"We were really pleased with this beautiful, well kept and well-equipped apartment and would definitely recommend. Ideal location for a quiet, relaxing break. Everywhere extremely clean and gardens immaculately kept. A very safe and secure complex. A short drive to a hypermarket to stock up on food, or walking distance to La Fontanne's fresh bakery, grocery stores and a couple of fairly decent restaurants/bars. We had a hire car and took the train from Antibes to Monaco/Monte Carlo. A short drive to Cap d'Antibes takes you to some lovely, safe, sandy beaches. Looking forward to returning again to the apartment at some time in the future. " - Review by Julie from UK
