The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region

The Cote d'Azur, the French Riviera: the names alone retain an enduring allure. Strung along the Mediterranean coast of France is a glittering necklace of exotic towns redolent of glamour and luxury: Antibes, Cannes, Monte-Carlo, Nice, St. Tropez.

The coast's plentiful pleasures include not only sun and sea but magnificent art and architecture, glorious perfumes and flowers, world-class yachts, casinos, film and jazz festivals, food, wine and spectacular scenery.

Antibes

Antibes, now the third largest town on the Cote d'Azur, began life as the Greek city of Antipolis, "the town opposite", facing the earlier settlement of Nice.

Antibes itself is surprisingly untouristy; its venerable history gives it a gravitas that is undeterred by waves of tourism and the Old Town offers many interesting sights and sounds.

A good free map is available from the Maison de Tourisme on the Place General de Gaulle - 5 minutes walk from the apartment. I have left a selection of 'what's on' information in the flat as well as current bus timetables.

"Best location in Old Antibes and central for visiting Cote d' Azur"

Just had a wonderful vacation to Antibes and the Cote d'Azur. Andy's apartment perfectly suited our needs. It was on a quiet street in the Old City without any restaurants or shops, which … More

"This place is brilliant - spacious, brilliant location, right in the hub yet surprisingly quiet - highly recommended!"

This place was brilliant for us - it had everything we needed, was within walking distance of the amazing fruit and veg markets; steps away from the boulangeries, and a short walk to the ramparts and the beaches. Would recommend it to anyone wanting to be right in the centre of everything, yet still in a place that provides comfort and quiet. Neighbours were lovely and friendly as well - we would love to go back some day!

"Tasting the South of France - with warmth, style and panache."

We have stayed in this appartment twice, and will certainly go back again. At any time of year, we feel we could relax here - you get a bit of everything in Rue de Palmieres - plenty of salt, sea, and fish; lots of old Antibes atmosphere; food, drink and fashion everywhere. Realy friendly people - they expect you to speak French, but are sympathetic when it comes out all wrong!

The appartment is great for a romantic week away, and also good for a family holiday. We did plenty of exercise - swimming, jogging, cycling - and then compensated 100% at night in the lovely restaurants down by the Marina.

"Great apartment in a great location"

5 of us (all adults) stayed in the apartment for 7 nights in mid August, which is a great time to be in Antibes as the night life is very lively and the weather at it's best.

The apartment is in a fantastic location right in the centre of the old town within walking distance to all of the restaurants, shops etc, but being situated along a side street it's suprisingly quiet.

It is well equipped with everything you need for self catering including a microwave, hob and large fridge but no oven, however this was not a problem for the light meals we prepared and with there being a plethora of good restaurants close by. The bathroom has a large shower and is nicely fitted out. There are two bedrooms, one with a double and a mezanine bed area, and the other has bunk beds. There is also a sofa bed in the lounge.

Overall we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this apartment.
