Home description
Villa Deville really is in the town centre! A short walk reveals a town full of happy surprises - leafy squares and elegant boulevards adjoin the narrow streets of the picturesque old town, ancient battlements overlook modern sunworshippers around the lagoon, the medieval chateau and cathedral look over Fort Carré which used to protect Port Vauban, now one of the most lavish marinas on the Riviera. Friendly restaurants and bars abound, and the town centre offers a multitude of excellent shops plus three supermarkets. Regular markets sell tempting local produce as well as crafts and bric-a-brac. Towards the east are the Siesta Club, Marineland, casino and fun parks, to the south the exclusive Cap d'Antibes, and westwards you find Juan-les-Pins, a modern offshoot of Antibes with its own distinct character.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
Antibes is at the heart of a beautiful area of great variety. Visiting the nearby attractions couldn't be easier, whether by car or on the very efficient local trains and buses. The network of fascinating regional railway lines includes regular TGV services from Paris - and the Petit Train des Pignes which meanders up the Var valley from Nice. Express coaches serve Nice Airport - and little buses zigzag up and down passes to villages in the back country. Within a few kilometres Marineland is world famous, Biot is well-known for glassware,Vallauris for pottery, Grasse for perfume, Cannes for film stars, and Nice has literally something for everyone. The Gorges du Loup are most spectacular, typical of the rugged setting for Vence, Gourdon and dozens of quaint villages in the "arriere pays", where unspoilt countryside, forests and "maquis" lead to the towering Alps ... all set against the "Grand Bleu" of the Mediterranean.
Antibes / Centre Ville area
Antibes is a bustling old-world market town that just happens to be a leading Mediterranean seaside resort. Markets you will find every day of the week and around almost every corner, selling every imaginable commodity. And beaches, there is the lagoon of la Gravette by the Port, a long strech of golden sand from l'Ilette to la Salis, and then again at la Garoupe on Cap d'Antibes. Otherwise you may like to do some serious shopping in the many smart boutiques, see a museum or two, visit a castle or two (yes Antibes has two castles), or just stroll round the charming old town. On the outskirts (Biot station) there are many attractions for youngsters, Marineland and fun parks. Evenings are animated, with a wide choice of restaurants and bars, and nightlife is a speciality of Juan-les-Pins.
How to get there
Antibes is 15 km from Nice Airport, the second airport of France and served by all major and budget airlines including Easyjet, Jet2, etc. Transport from the airport by bus direct to Place de Gaulle Antibes. All trains stop at Antibes en route for Nice, including the TGV. Voyaging by car, Antibes is on the A8 autoroute (exit 44), the N7 and the D35 Route de Napoleon.

Further details indoors: Apartment 1 has double and twin bedrooms plus a sofa bed in the spacious lounge, which offers a relaxing atmosphere summer or winter, including satellite tv, wifi internet. French doors open onto the large terrace at the front, and the garden at the side to profit from our wonderful climate. There is central heating and a wood-burning stove if ever the nights are chilly. The kitchen is fully fitted with cooker, microwave, large fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine etc and has a cosy dining area. The bathroom / wc is also generously proportioned. Outside the terrace and pool are for guests' use, the garden is shared with the proprietors who occupy apartment 2.
Further details outdoors: The terraced garden is well planted and maintained. There are tables and chairs at each level plus sunbeds by the pool. The pool measures about 6.5 x 3.5 metres and is very sunny and secluded at the top of the garden. There are two parking places in front of the house, and everything is within easy walking distance once arrived.

Extras available include linens / towels (25 euros per person), baby bed ,chair, pushchair (young children need careful supervision, the garden is dangerous!) MIDWEEK / WEEKEND BOOKINGS WELCOME, nightly rate pro rata. Long term bookings please discuss. Winter extras include central heating, pool.
Conditions
Deposit of 25% secures a booking. Balance due 8 weeks before arrival. Security caution £350 / 500 euros refunded (if all is well!) within 2 weeks of departure. Payment accepted in sterling or euros.
