The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region
The Côte d'Azur, often known in English as the French Riviera was one of the first modern resort areas.
As a tourist centre it benefits from 300 days of sunshine per year, 115 kilometres (71 mi) of coastline and beaches, 18 golf courses, 14 ski resorts and 3,000 restaurants.
Nearby to Antibes, Juan-les-Pins is a major holiday beachside destination, with a casino and nightclubs and is serviced by buses and trains from Antibes but is only a 30 minute walk should you like to cut across the gorgeous Cap d'Antibes, which is the most prestigious address in France, there is also Marineland at Biot and the fantastic preserved villages of Eze, Mougins, Valbonne and St Paul de Vence that are all accessible by public transport.
Ideally situated between Nice and Cannes and only 14 kilometers from Nice International airport, Antibes is known for the largest private yacht marina in Europe, which is home to the biggest and most luxurious 'super yachts' in the World, its Provencal market, Picasso museum and medieval Ramparts. It has its own sheltered, sandy beach, and is within 5 minutes walking distance of several others.
The Provencal fresh produce market runs every day in the summer and is not to be missed, in the evenings it turns into an array of outdoor restaurants and local artists' stalls. With the beach, cafes, restaurants, local weekly antique markets and countless artisans' workshops situated in and around the labyrinth of quaint cobblestoned streets of the Old town, Antibes offers many distractions within several minutes walk to try and keep you away from the apartment.
There is also Renoir's home and the Picasso Museum, which contains the artist's locally inspired works, the amazing looking Fort Carre which towers over the port, the cathedral and its summer concerts.
The old town of Antibes is right in the centre of all the Cote d'Azur has to offer and this apartment is right in the centre of the old town.
