The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region
From Cannes to Nice going through Antibes and Menton all the way to the Italian Border the Cote d'Azur is one not only of beauty but prestige. The coastline is spotted with turn of the century mansions and modern luxury homes.
During the Summer months when the Cote D'Azur is particularly lively one can find sunbathers on the beaches of sand or pebbles and strollers leisurely walking along the Croisette in Cannes or the Promenade des Anglais in Nice.
Why does the French Riviera remain so popular with connoisseurs of the good things in life?!
Some come for the grandeur of the rugged coast. Others favour the art treasures , the ancient ruins and the sleepy villages tucked away in the hills. Many more come simply for the glamour of the seaside resorts. The charms of the Riviera are so varied that most visitors are at a loss to know where to start. First-time visitors soon fall under the region's spell while those who already know it remain enchanted, returning year after year!
Antibes is perfectly situated in the heart of the French Riviera. Nestled between two coves, its city walls (The Ramparts) reach into the sea whilst offering magnificent views of the Cap d'Antibes to the west and Nice to the east, with the snow capped Alps in the background. Take a stroll around Old Antibes, with its quaint narrow streets busy with visitors and locals wandering around the shops, markets and antique fairs. Explore the independent community of Safranier which consists of several cobbled streets filled with delightful rows of houses awash with colour. Visit the Picasso Museum, the Cathedral or the History & Archaeology Museum. Port Vauban which is overlooked by Fort Carré is the largest marina in Europe. It is home to many of the world's most expensive and largest yachts. While away an afternoon on one of the sandy beaches, soaking up the sun or try your hand at one of the many water-sports available including water skiing, wake boarding, sailing, windsurfing or scuba diving. The Marché Provençal is filled with scents and aromas where you can buy lavender and herbs from Provence, locally produced oils, spices, wines or cheeses as well as fresh fruit and vegetables. In the evening the Marché Provençal attracts tourists and locals alike who come to see the artists and craftsmen of the area displaying their work, alongside the many restaurants and bars. Experience the wide range of restaurants in Antibes offering extensive menus serving excellent quality food to suit all tastes and budgets.
