About the home
The house is on three floors with the middle one providing the main living room and kitchen, the upper one a bedroom and bathroom and the lower one a large vaulted-arched bedroom with bathroom which can accommodate several children. The property has all mod-cons such as TV, HI-FI, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.
It is ideal for a relaxing family beach and sailing holiday with everything close by and no need for a car. There is no outside space but many squares and beaches are a stone's throw away.
We now have a place in an underground parking garage about 400 metres from the house (at the Place de la Poste) that guests are welcome to use for no extra charge - a big benefit in Antibes where parking is very difficult!

There is a gas fired combination boiler which gives unlimited hot water for showers. There are fans for cooling in hot weather but the house has thick old walls so does not get too hot.
The lower bedroom has a separate entrance onto the street as well as being accessible by stairs from the middle dining/living floor.
For dropping off luggage by car you can stop on the Marché Provençal about 50 metres from the house.
There is a traditional boulangerie 10 metres from the house and supermarkets nearby so getting food is easy. There is fresh produce for sale every day in the Marché Provencale.

Provence is one the most popular holiday destinations in the world with over 300 days of sunshine throughout the year. Situated between Nice and Cannes, Antibes is an ideal base to explore the French Riviera, including Cannes, Nice and Monaco, as well as the stunning perched villages of St. Paul de Vence, Grasse, Valiauris and Eze.
The area is well-served by public transport which means that there is no need to rent a car and this allows you to relax and enjoy your holiday. The train station is 10 minutes from the house and offers regular services to all of the towns along the coast with very picturesque rides.
Both Cannes and Nice can be easily reached by train or bus in 15 -30 minutes. The inland towns are served by a regular bus service. The bus station is a 5-minute walk from the house. The winter ski resorts of Auron and Isola 2000 are 90 minutes away.
The Antibes / Vieille Ville area
Behind the ramparts, the centuries old 'Vieille Ville' has all the charm of a French Provençal village and attracts visitors throughout the year. Strolling through the towns narrow cobbled streets with its cafés and craft shops is a pleasure. The bustling Marche Provençal has a daily food market specialising in local produce.
There is a vast choice of high quality restaurants which offer very good value and cater for all tastes. The Picasso Museum in the Grimaldi Castle displays the works which the artist created in Antibes in 1946. The Raymond Peynet Museum, the cartoonist famous for his 'Lovers' series, together with a Café Théatre, are found in Place Nationale.
There is also the big Marineland water park nearby with rides and dolphin shows which is great for kids.
Antibes is also a chic seaside resort. Its famous port, Port Vauban, is the largest marina in Europe and is home to the most luxurious yachts on the French Riviera. The medieval Fort Carre, fortified by Vauban, Louis XIV's military architect, overlooks the port. Three sandy beaches are located within ten minutes walk of the house.
Cap d’Antibes, approximately 15 minutes walk from the Old Town, is one of the most sought after addresses on the French Riviera and offers stunning walks along the coast. There are also a number of private beach clubs where you can rent a sun-lounger for a small fee. The trendy resort of Juan les Pins with its bustling nightlife is a short bus-ride away.

We've just spend a lovely relaxing week at this property and it was perfect. The house is located about 10-15 mins walk from the lovely beaches, 5 minutes from the Picasso museum and close by to lots of markets, restaurants, cafes and shops. The house came fully stocked so we could enjoy evenings in, cooking dinner and watching a film as well as going out to sample the local bars. The information pack was really useful in recommending restaurants and providing us with local information about supermarkets, transport and local sights. Everything in Antibes is within walking distance, the bus from Nice airport was easy to use and very efficient, The house was clean and had all the necessary facilities so little effort was needed on our part aside from turning up and enjoying ourselves! |

Price excludes cleaning, linen and utilities which is €100 if one bedroom is used, €125 if both are used. Longer lets in the low season are negotiable. Changeover day is negotiable except in July and August when it is Saturday.
Half the rent is payable at booking and the rest a month prior to departure. A €300 euro deposit is payable on arrival which will be returned minus the cleaning charge assuming the property is left clean and tidy and all sheets are returned.
Rentals rates are net of any bank charges that the lessee may incur in making bank transfers. Preferred method of payment is paypal.com in which case add 3.5% credit card charge to the rent.
