La Pleiade
About the home
This new and modern apartment is situated in the centre of town and is ideal for a couple or a small family group. It can sleep a maximum of four people – two in a double bed in the bedroom and two on the sofa bed in the living room. The apartment is on the third floor, but this is a modern building with a lift.
The living room has a sofa bed, an armchair, a dining table with four chairs, satellite television and a DVD player. The bathroom has both bath and shower. The open-plan kitchen has all mod cons – fridge-freezer, microwave, electric cooker, washing machine, kettle, etc. The flat is equipped with air-conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter.
There is a balcony with a table and four chairs ideal for eating breakfast and lunch. There are also two recliners to relax on and soak in the sun. The balcony receives the sun from morning to mid/late afternoon. And of course the nearest Antibes beach is only a 7-8 minute walk away.
The apartment is located in the very centre of Antibes – close to the tourist office and all shops, amenities, beaches, restaurants, bars and the Old Town – but it is off the main road and so nice and quiet.
The apartment is also only about ten minutes’ walk away from Juan les Pins which is equally popular for its lively nightlife, casino and excellent beaches.
The local library around the corner has free wi-fi and internet facilities.
You can also take the bus or train and go up the mountains, to visit charming medieval villages or to go skiing.

Here is what some previous guests have said:
"I thought the flat was very good. I particularly liked the location as the town centres of both Antibes and Juan-les-Pins were within walking distance and it was near a supermarket and other shops. I will certainly consider using it again."

"We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed spending time in your apartment in beautiful Antibes. It catered for our every need and we have to say how helpful and kind your agent was to us. It was very reassuring to have somebody nearby, she was a treasure. Thank you for helping us to have such a happy time in one of our favourite locations. "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The apartment was spick and span when we arrived and catered for all our needs. Your local agent was extremely helpful.
Getting to grips with the transport system proved easy enough and we went by train to Eze sur mer and Villefranche, a couple of our old haunts.
We liked the feeling of living in Antibes and not just staying there and if we decide to visit the coast again we will certainly contact you."

"Just to say we had the most marvellous holiday in Antibes. Your apartment was great and we thought the position of it just super for visiting the old or the new parts of Antibes.
Everything in the apartment was great, the weather was fantastic for the whole time and we visited Cannes, Monte Carlo, Grasse and explored every inch of Antibes. Especially enjoyed looking at the HUGE boats!!!
Train journey was great, no problems at all and a very interesting experience! So thank you very much."
------------
"We had a wonderful week in Antibes. Your flat was just right for us, near to everything we needed. We used bus and rail for Monaco, Monte Carlo, Nice, Cannes, St Paul and Vence and Ventimiglia. Do hope we can go again next year."

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
The Cote d'Azur has over 300 days of sunshine a year and has long been a favourite holiday destination for both the British and the French. Lovely sandy beaches, safe bathing in a beautiful blue sea, historic, medieval villages, mountains, museums, cafes, bars and restaurants are all on your doorstep. Apart from the obvious world famous destinations – Nice and Cannes (both just a bus ride away) – there are many less well known attractions equally worth seeing in the vicinity. Visit a pottery in Vallauris, a glass works in Biot or a perfumery in Grasse - all are very close and can be reached by public transport. No wonder Picasso loved this area and lived and worked here for several years. The French Alps are about 1.5 hours away; you can drive there or go by bus or train. This is a great area for skiing in the winter and hiking in spectacular scenery at other times of the year. The nearby hills are ideal walking country and you can visit lots of picturesque, historic villages such as Mougins, Valbonne, St Paul de Vence, Menton, Gourdon or Tourettes sur Loup. The bus service is very good and the fare is only 1 euro per person per journey. You can also get around by train which runs both along the coast and up into the mountains. You can therefore also go skiing in the winter. From Antibes it is easy to get to Cannes (10 minutes by train), where the world famous film festival is held; Nice (10 minutes), with its delightful pedestrianised old town and huge market; Monaco (45 minutes), where you can see how the other half live, visit the Monte Carlo casino and the Grand Prix; and even Italy is within easy reach. A detailed guide to Antibes and the local area is here: http://www.antibesjuanlespins.com/brochures/en/manuel_groupes_anglais.pdf
The Antibes / Antibes Centre Ville area
Antibes is ideally located between Nice and Cannes, with excellent bus and also train services. You can find out more about Antibes and current events taking place there at the official website: www.antibesjuanlespins.com. Antibes is a very ancient town with over 2,500 years of history. There is an old fort dating back to the 16th century, and you can still see sections of medieval walls and towers around the old town - which consists of a maze of streets and squares filled with restaurants, bars and shops. It is also home to several museums, most famous of which is the Picasso museum, and a provencal market which sells fresh fruit and vegetables as well as arts & crafts. There is also a roman cellar turned into a fascinating bar with over a dozen different varieties of absinthe! Antibes is attached to Juan les Pins, which is very popular for its beaches, its bars and the casino. Being on the coast there lots of watersports available including diving, sailing (both boat hire and lessons are available) and waterskiing, and there are several golf courses in the area. Boat trips can also be taken to the Lérins Islands which are rich in history and nature. On Sainte-Marguerite, visit Fort Royal where the Man in the Iron Mask was imprisoned. You can also sail to Monaco and St Tropez. Firework festivals are held in Antibes, as well as other towns along the coast, and jazz festivals are held in Juan Les Pins and Nice. Christmas is well-celebrated with lots of decorations and events. Children are well catered for with the very popular Marineland and fun park. Here is a report from the The Daily Telegraph (23/6/2009): “If there is an art gallery with a more beautiful location than the Picasso Museum in Antibes, I have yet to find it. From the terrace below the medieval stone tower of the former Grimaldi Palace, you look out over the glittering waters of the bay to the distant grey bulk of Cap Ferrat. The sun beats on the Mediterranean, yachts slide lazily past, around the corner children paddle from the beach, and inside the medieval château, the white-walled galleries are hung with some of the painter's most hedonistic and untroubled work. Picasso used the château as a studio in the autumn of 1946, a brief but apparently happy interlude in the itinerant life of the exiled Spaniard. His painting Joie de Vivre, which hangs in the museum, perhaps best captures the mood, with its summery palette of light blues and yellows. A naked model dances to pan pipes – played by a faun and a centaur – on the beach while a fishing boat bobs on the horizon. Some of Picasso's most hedonistic and spirited paintings and drawings are here”.
