Key Info
  • Beach / lakeside relaxation
  • Suitable for children over 5
  • Car not necessary
  • No pets allowed

A real hidden gem in the heart of Old Antibes and only 5 mins walk to the beach - we offer a 2 bedroom Traditional Maison De Ville with Large 12m sq Private Terrace. This peaceful Old Town house also boasts fast private Internet and sleeps 4-6.

With a very short walk to the train station (SNCF), and fast links throughout France (F1, Monaco and Cannes) and especially to Nice Airport (30 mins) (London airports 2 hour flight and connections throughout Europe) - we are ideally located for anyone wishing to visit the abundant nearby tourist spots, having a quiet retreat away from it all or for the barmy beach lover. Set in the old town, it has all the character, but with the benefit of all modern amenities.

Master bedroom: Superking bed, Top floor oak with beamed roof, and direct access to the terrasse through glass picture window (floor to ceiling). Bedroom 2: Open plan on the second floor with new bunk beds. New sofa bed in the sitting room which converts into kingsize bed.

Fully equipped kitchen with small table and chairs. Dining room on ground floor with glass dining table and chairs, a cool spot in the summer and with doors open you can watch the world go by. Good in the winter for dining inside.

This was our first home, we love the character and charm of the house with stone floor throughout and central winding staircase, as well as all that Antibes has to offer: beaches, restaurants, traditional market, sailing etc. The house is on a "Rue Pietonne" (pedestrian street) so quiet but in the heart of the town. With a terrace which is not overlooked - great for relaxing.

Hi Andrew
I am sorry to hear of your daughter's experience although we talk about bunk beds and stairs quite explicitly on the web.
Glad you enjoyed your stay though

"A Genuine French Holiday."

This is a real French holiday staying in a wonderful, comfortable and genuine French house in the historic Old Town Antibes. Flying into Nice is so easy with just a 20 minute ride along the coast to the house. Once there we had no need of a car, you are there. Walking to the beach (10 minutes) you pass through narrow streets and allyways full of cafes, restaurants and shops. Next to the beach is one of the favoured marinas for the Med yachts, some of which take your breath away. This trip was perfect for the two of us to relax but last Easter we came with the family, our daughter and son aged 12 and 10. They had a great time, understanding the real France, speaking French (they had to here) and seeing another way of life. This is not a resort that could be in Spain, Portugal or Florida - this is France. We all loved the house, the town and France.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay - where we are situated is certainly very authentic but don't forget Antibes is a favourite holiday destination for thousands.
This really is a wonderful part of France - we would certainly welcome you back, Sarah.

"Beware of the security deposit return"

Let me start by saying the house is wonderful and is in a great location.

My advice is to assume that you won't get all your deposit back, and as long as you are happy with that then go ahead and book, as the house is great and in a great location.

Three weeks after checking out, and chasing the return of the security deposit, I was told that a number of things were being taken from the deposit, some of which were fair (a table cloth that my children had drawn on) some of which were questionable (light bulbs, not sure how this was calculated as a large number were not working when we checked in), and some of which were down right laughable (carpet cleaning, there is no carpet in the house, it is all hard floors!)

You might ask why this wasn't discussed at check out, well the owners agent did not show up at the agreed time, we waited 40mins, but had to leave for our flight. But that probably should not have surprised me as she was 30mins late to meet us for the check in, and had not finished cleaning the house from the previous guests.

Sad thing is that the place is worth the combined value of the rent and the security deposit scam paid, just wish the owner had been upfront, I would have paid the amount and not been left with a bad taste in my mouth (hence the average rating) from what is a great house in a great location.

Thank you for your comments and pleased to hear that you you think our house is wonderful.

We're disappointed about your remarks regarding deposit return, and we would like to reassure you, and other guests, that we have been doing holiday lettings for two years and this was only the third occasion we have not returned the full deposit. We did return some of your deposit but unfortunately the property did not meet the agreed standard on departure and therefore the deposit was used to clean/repair as required as outlined in the itemised bill that was sent to you. We make as clear as we can that the property needs to be left in the same condition as when guests receive the keys.

For information, Holiday Lettings (trip advisor) use a Payment Protection Booking System which protects both bookings and deposits.

Thank you again for your comments, and glad to hear you had a good holiday.

Thank you very much for the lovely review.

We don't recommend the house for small children (under 5) because of the stone steps - although our own children managed with ease.
