About the home

This exceptional villa is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the borders of El Torcal Regional Park and 45 minutes from the beach, in its own completely enclosed private estate planted with olive trees.

The holiday villa is very close to the pretty town of La Higuera, a pleasant fifteen minute stroll away (800m), the famous city of Antequera is only 30 minutes (24km) and Malaga is 45 minutes (48km). The recently built house has an outdoor covered porch for shade. The swimming pool, surrounded by lawns, and the paved barbecue area, are both ideal areas for relaxing and enjoying the charm of the surrounding countryside. There is a covered car park area.

This is a particularly charming property for any season of the year both because of its lovely refreshing pool in the hot months and because of its open fireplace and central heating in the cooler winter season. From this holiday base we can enjoy ourselves discovering delightfully bewitched landscapes while we learn something about the folklore of this region, the ancient customs and the charm of its special people.

Indoors the villa is well planned down to every detail and laid out on one floor. All the rooms are airy and spacious and have been fitted with high quality furnishings. The comfortable living – dining room has attractive wooden roof beams, the bedrooms have high quality linen, the kitchen is fully fitted and equipped and there is a shower room.

The Antequera / La Higuera area

This is a region of flat lands dotted with occasional hills, a crossroads between the Mediterranean and the River Guadalquivir, with fertile valleys where the rivers collect into small lakes.

The traveller will discover a vast heritage, with monuments created both by nature and by man. Antequera has the most important megalithic monument in Europe: the Menga dolmen, as well as the Viera and El Romeral dolmens; the Fuente de Piedra lake is a sanctuary for a colony of pink flamingos; and El Torcal is a natural museum with mysterious sculptures carved by erosion out of a huge limestone rock.

Examples of Baroque architecture can be found scattered throughout the towns of Alameda, Archidona with its famous Plaza Ochavada square, Campillos, Humilladero, Mollina, Teba and others.
