'WALNUT FARM' consists of 2 cottages set in a private enclosed huge garden with walnut, olive & fruit trees. The property is decorated & furnished to a very high standard. Each cottage includes Satellite TV, chiminea BBQ, & private patios/pergolas. There are garden games including giant Jenga & giant chess, sun loungers, pool towels & much more - a real "home from home" experience - but with better weather ! Chill out, unwind and forget about the stresses of everyday life.
Will suit guests who want to see the "real" Spain. Surrounded by stunning views of the Sierra de las Cabras mountains, Walnut Farm is idea for a peaceful & relaxing holiday, yet is also within easy reach Antequera, other local villages, and other attractions including El Torcal, El Chorro & Lake Iznajar. Antequera Golf & Country Club is only 10 mins drive away. There are 3 restaurants, a convenience store & petrol station 2 mins away by car. 'Las Navillas' Adventure Centre is just 3km away where you can enjoy quad biking in the mountains, horse riding, climbing & zip slides, donkey rides, 4x4 mountain jeep ride, paintballing & archery (all very reasonably priced). CASA MARGUERITA : sleeps up to 5 . It has an open plan lounge & dining room with beamed ceilings and integral modern kitchen, and 2 bedrooms. There is a high quality sofa bed in the lounge to accommodate the 5th person. There is a beautifully tiled luxury main bathroom with large corner bath, shower and a separate en-suite toilet room with basin to the 2nd bedroom.
CASA ROSA : the 2nd cottage sleeps up to 4. It is at the same location but not attached. Casa Rosa also has 2-bedrooms but both are en-suite. It also has an open plan lounge & dining room with beamed ceilings & integral modern kitchen. It has 2 beautifully tiled en-suite bathrooms. Everthing is furnished & fully equipped to the highest standards. Each cottage can be booked separately (see refs: 10108 & 10294), but both booked together are perfect for larger groups & extended families.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
WALNUT FARM is ideally located for getting to see many different attractions, both locally and further afield. Granada (1 Hour) Seville (1.5 hours) Gibraltar ( 1.5 hours) Ronda (45 mins) and Cordoba are all well worth seeing. Some travel writers have dubbed the region "The Andalucian Lake District " and the area remains unspoilt by commercialism. Between the craggy mountains surrounding Ronda and Antequera there are around 6 lakes, each one a magnet for wildlife. The turquoise lakes of El Chorro are surrounded by soaring limestone crags with eagles frequently spotted circling around. There is also a fantastic railway walk which climbs around the gorge. Ski-ing in the Sierra Nevada is just over an hour away.
The climate - Summers are always very hot with rain rare between May and October. Winter months can still be warm but evenings are noticeably cooler.
Antequera area
Antequera, just 10 mins away from Walnut Farm, is a Roman Town with many historic buildings, beautiful churches, a Moorish castle, bullring and other places of interest ,and you can join a "Town Trail" from the Tourist information office. Enjoy tapas, a special evening meal or just a drink in one of the many bars and restaurants. Just 10 minutes out of Antequera you can visit the unique and incredibly spectacular "lunar" scenery of El Torcal - with many signposted walks of varying lengths and difficulty.
Fuentra de Piedra, a natural salt water lake and ornithologists paradise with thousands of flamingoes and other wildlife to be enjoyed, is just 30 minutes away. Granada and the maginificent Alhambra Palace is definitely not to be missed, and a trip to Seville, one of the largest historical centres in Europe can be reached by car or from the train station in Antequera. Cordoba with its Great Mosque is considered by many as the eighth wonder of the world. Closer by, Villanueva de Trabucco, Villaneuva de Rosario and Colmenar are typical Spanish villages.

Further details indoors: CASA MARGUERITA has a fully fitted kitchen which includes a hob with 3 rings plus a 'combination' microwave (which also acts as an oven and grill) and a crockpot/slow cooker.
There are two bedrooms, one with en-suite toilet and wash basin, plus a separate bathroom including fabulous corner bath & shower. In the lounge area there is a high quality fully sprung sofa bed to accommodate a 5th guest.
CASA ROSA has a fully fitted kitchen including a conventional gas cooker with a grill and 4 rings. There is a 'combination microwave' (which also acts as an oven and grill).
There are also 2 bedrooms - one has an en-suite shower room and is accessed off the main living area of the cottage. The second bedroom has an en suite bathroom - but has the benefit of access via its own separate front door. Casa Rosa therefore is ideal for either 1 or 2 couples, or a family with older children, due to the added privacy.
Further details outdoors: Fully tiled magnificent large heated swimming pool (10m x 5m with Roman steps) plus large surrounding terrace with 10 sunloungers, parasols and outdoor shower. There is a shallow and a deep end. There are lilos and pool games provided.
There is a separate utility room at the bottom of the garden housing a washing machine, freezer and additional fridge, with iron and ironing board. There is a small library with books, games, CDs and DVDs. Several outdoor games including giant chess and 'jenga' are provided.

The superb large heated swimming pool is open from beginning of April until the end of November and shared only with guests from the other cottage.
CASA ROSA is ideal for 2 couples sharing or for a couple with older chidren or 4 adults, as one of the bedrooms has a separate entrance, which is great for added privacy. This makes it not as suitable for families with very young children. The other cottage, Casa Marguerita (ref 10108), would suit young children better.
Both houses booked together at Walnut Farm makes it a perfect holiday for extended large families, with in-laws or for 2 groups of friends/family where you want to holiday together but in privacy. You will have the whole of Walnut Farm to yourselves! There is nothing better than eating outside in true Spanish style. The garden furniture from each house can be joined together and all 9 people can eat as one big family on the large patio/pergola of Casa Marguerita which overlooks the pool. In the summer months many families swim until very late at night and there is even pool lighting!
Star gazing at night time with a bottle of wine is truly exceptional at Walnut Farm. There is very little light pollution and so the sky is just lit up to gaze at and dream under!
WALNUT FARM IS ALSO IDEAL FOR CORPORATE BOOKINGS TOO. Antequera Golf is within 10 mins which includes a spectacular 18 hole Golf Course, surrounded by the beautiful natural park, El Torcal. The length of the course is over 6000 metres and its surroundings in the natural environment and the special character of real inland Andalusia makes it an experience not to forget. The course is a challenge for professional and amateurs with a variety of interesting golf shots. Different options to play every hole according to your level of golf. The course offers a professional shop, practice area (with illuminated driving range), putting greens, chipping zones, bar, cafeteria, 2 restaurants and a conference room. There is even an indoor heated swimming pool, SPA, sauna and steam room!
Just 3 kms away from Walnut Farm is the incredible 'Las Navillas' Adventure Centre where your group can enjoy paintballing, horseriding, wall climbing, archery, zip slides across the moutain, 4x4 jeep mountain trips, and the fantastic experience of quad biking in groups up mountain tracks! Special packages can be arranged for you and negotiated by the owner for your group.
So why not enjoy a couple of amazing 'Adventure Days' in between a 'Golf Day' and then some 'Lazy Days' around the pool with games and competitions and then barbecueing altogether at night time al fresco! And then party in true Spanish style under the stars!
