Cortijo La Nava is a traditional Andalucian Cortijo (farmhouse) located in the spanish countryside at the gateway to Seville, Granada & Cordoba, yet only 40 minutes from Malaga and Granada airports and the beaches of the Costa del Sol. The Cortijo is a beautifully restored rustic farmhouse surrounded by rolling olive groves, mountains and spectacular scenery. It has four bedrooms, two with en-suite shower-rooms, a family bathroom , a traditional Andalucian kitchen, Dining Room, a comfortable Lounge and sleeps 8. Two bedrooms are large enough to accommodate another bed so for an extra charge, we can sleep 10 (14 if rented in conjunction with the Granary).
Activities you can enjoy in this beautiful area of Spain include sight-seeing, walking, cycling, bird watching, climbing, horse riding or just relaxing by the pool, we can even arrange art lessons if you'd like to try something different. Villanueva del Trabuco is a typical white walled pueblo with a pleasant central square and enjoys a slower pace of life, unless you visit during one of the many fiestas when things get very lively. You're bound to meet the local goatherds as they tend their flocks in the area.
There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from, all serving the Spanish speciality - tapas and plain but good quality food. You will even find chivo(goat) on the menu. The many restaurants even include Italian & Mexican.

The Farmhouse has been recently restored and tastefully decorated with many of the original features preserved, including beams and marble staircase.
All Linen is provided except beach/pool towels, although if you forget yours we have some available. We provide for bookings of 2 weeks, housekeeping which consists of a bed linen and towel change.
For families with small children we have a baby bath, high chair and cot available.

The Garden has a selection of trees (including fruit trees such as cherry, plum and pomegranate), shrubs, plants and lawn and provides a relaxed and secluded atmosphere. There is a variety of seating and barbecue areas and everyone just loves the hammock!
The Swimming Pool is surrounded by a patio area with tables, chairs, sun loungers and large umbrellas for your enjoyment. For those with a little more energy why not try your hand at Boule and we have some giant garden games (Connect 4 and Jenga) for the children and the young at heart. If the Granary apartment is booked, these outdoor facilities are shared. However, for a small additional cost, we can offer sole occupancy.
Conditions
If you book your holiday for the following year before 31st December you will receive a 10% discount.
Bookings are confirmed on receipt of a 20% deposit. The balance is due 8 weeks before the start of your holiday.

The Andalucia / Malaga Province region
Cortijo La Nava is situated 4 minutes drive from a lovely pueblo unspoilt by tourism, with ventas, bars, restaurants, chemist and a 24-hour medical centre. The local people are very friendly and welcoming.
We are within easy reach of the motorway which links Malaga, Granada, Seville and Cordoba. Visit Granada and the magnificent Alhambra Palace, within the hour. Cordoba, where the world-famous Mezquita, the Moorish mosque is located. Skiing and mountain biking in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the wonderful city of Seville are all within two hours drive.
Closer to home you can visit the nearby town of Antequera, the magnificent limestone gorge and lakes in El Chorro, the prehistoric dolmen caves and El Torcal Park Nature Reserve. You could also relax and have a coffee in the famous eight sided plaza and take in the history of local town Archidona.
The beaches of the Costa del Sol and watersports are also within only one hours drive, making Cortijo La Nava the ideal setting for the perfect Spanish holiday.
The Antequera / Villanueva del Trabuco area
Villanueva del Trabuco is a traditional Spanish pueblo, it has a weekly market, plenty of shops and very typically Spanish restaurants and bars. The indoor-market is open daily during the week, where you can buy good quality produce and fresh fish.
Places to visit nearby include Rio Frio. While you're there why not sample the local trout in one of the many restaurants. Walk through El Torcal, high above the plains with its magnificent rock formations or visit Fuente de la Piedra and the lagoons filled with migrating Flamingoes (depending on the time of year).
