KITCHENETTE - "Welcome Pack" including, bread, milk, cheese, ham, eggs, coffee, tea, sugar etc.(Please let us know if there is anything particular you may require). until you are able to go shopping. Pic-nic basket (fully equipped), cooler box & bag with ice blocks. Gas Oven, microwave, kettle, coffee percolator, toaster, orange juicer, full cutlery & dinner service, glasses, serving dishes, (all microwavable), If you think we have left anything out please ask.

BEDROOM - Double bed, bedside tables with lamps, alarm clocks, dressing table, large triple door wardrobe, with sewing kit, First Aid Kit, Extra pillows, blankets, beach towels & umbrellas. Choice of bedding depending on weather for Winter - duvet, electric blanket, comforter, Summer - sheets, bedspread (Clean linen weekly). Iron & table, clothes horse, cleaning utensils. Wall mounted heater for winter & stand alone fans for summer.

SHOWER ROOM - Shower, w.c., basin, shaver plug,extractor fan & large mirrors. Towelling bath robes & slippers. Hair dryer, tongues, hair straiteners, ladies basket with some useful extras.

PATIO - You can eat 'al fresco', bar-b-que, sun loungers, dip pool, Heated HOT TUB/JACUZZI.

Owing to the airlines baggage restrictions we have tried to accommodate our guests by providing them with as many daily gadgets as we need, like hair dryer, tongues, plates, etc. Include we have - safe, Internet & W-ifi Connection, land line , universal plug, Spanish Mobile/Cell Phone - 'Pay as you Go' (you can top it up in the Estanco next door) , up-to-date extensive Archives with local information.

Information Board - where people leave useful suggestions.

Cleaner can be arranged. Change of bedding & towels weekly.

As it is a "Roof-Top Apartment" and there are stairs we have aquired a three wheeler trolley. So now there is no problem

getting heavy luggage up. Thank you for your suggestion.

Patio - a large area approximately 40 sq metres with two recliners & towels, plunge pool (4 x 6 ft approx.), Bar-b-que, Hot Tub/Jacuzzi, table and chairs for eating out 'al fresco', foot bath. You may smoke on the Patio & please use the ashtray provided & not the plants. Inside is 'NO SMOKING'. At the back of our house there is a concrete standing which guests may use for parking, (parking at your own risk) . You can walk to the town centre in 7 minutes or take the hourly local bus from outside the house. The main local ameneties are listed in the files in the apartment. We are fortunate that due to our position we are able to offer different types of holidays, like ACTIVITY HOLIDAYS - including GOLF 18 holes, HICKING, ORNOTHOLOGY some very rare species, Nature Reserve Park, ROCK CLIMBING, BEACH, ARCHITECTURE- Antequera itself is steeped in history & architecture, The town with the most Convents & Churches The Virgen del Carmen a beautiful Baroque Church. THE ALHAMBRA PALACE - Granada is a must CORDOBA - the Mosque and old quarter are well worth visiting.TOURING - As we are at the 'Crossroads of Andalucia' you can take the train to Cordoba, Granada, Malaga & Sevilla, we advice guests to take a tour bus on arrival, this gives them an overview of each City. Then one can spend the day visiting the places you really want to see whilst having the advantage of hopping on and off the bus at any destination. RELAXING HOLIDAY - The barrio of San Juan is a peaceful place, and one can take advantage of the large patio to relax, sunbathe & , If you decide to stay in, how about a nice BBQ (all items provided), a nice dip in the HOT TUB/JACUZZI or in the pool, on a nice warm evening. There are also some indoor games. Antequera is full of beautiful Churches & Convents, also some lovely Museums & of course the Roman/Moorish Castle with it's Plaza & a small restaurant where you can either eat a meal or have tapas, in or outdoors. From there you get a birds eye view of the whole of Antequera. Especially at night time when it is all lit up, it is absolutely breath taking.

The Andalucia region

Our home is in The Monumental/Conservation Area of Antequera, 'Cuesta Real', which is the first Street to have been built outside the Castle Walls is therefore known as 'The Royal Street' . In a dip between 'El Torcal' Mountain Range,National Park & Nature Reserve, which is approx. 1,700 mtrs above sea level & the 'Roman/Moorish Castle' behind us.The first thing that impresses one as you step out onto the Patio are the magnificent breath-taking views all around you. Also known as "The Crossroads of Andalucía" or "Heart of Andalucía" Antequera is also used as a Pier de Terre for Cordoba, Granada, Malaga & Sevilla, which are roughly equidistant from here. There is also an excellent rail link to these Cities. Antequera is also renowned for it's wonderful Architecture, Monuments, Churches and Convents. The Antequeranos are wonderful people friendly & helpful. In the Royal Walk in the Centre of Town we often have mini fairs, with delicious food stalls, beer tents etc., you can also buy different Artisan products, even several stalls from South America selling the most beautiful Alpaca sweaters, ponchos & Inca jewellery. If what you want is to see & feel the REAL SPAIN, Antequera is the place see.


San Juan is in the 'Monumental/Conservation Area' of Antequera so strict building regulations are in order, also known as a 'White Town', the door and window surrounds of the houses are usually painted in Orange, this is to ward off 'Evil Spirits'. Since we arrived in 2003 we have seen many changes. Initially it was like stepping back in time by 30 yrs. Now, we have huge advancements medically, technologically, sports, families, to mention a few. Yet, one still gets these little pockets here and there where time has stood still, and it is wonderful to see and partake of that experience. Everyone is very helpful here, even more so if they see you trying to speak their language. They themselves now know how difficult it is for you, as they are now trying to learn English. Barrio (hamlet) San Juan (St John the Baptist) who is also the 'Patron Saint of Antequera' is a 5 mins walk (but it is a steep hill, if you go the other way down the 'The Palm Avenue' (takes slightly longer, but isn't so steep). Taxis - from anywhere in Antequera to here should cost you approx. 6 euros, we also have a local bus hourly which takes you into town. Locally (1mins walk) we have the following shops - There is a list on the notice board of our local shop, owners name & timetable.






The Spanish mainly eat between 13.00 and 15.00, & this is their main meal of the day, not like us who eat at night. In the evenings though you have lovely bars which serve tapas or half rations. If you like fish this is plentiful as our fish comes directly from the docks in Malaga daily.

ANTEQUERA is full of wonderful historic Churches,Convents & Museums, many of which have been fully restored & the town has a lively cafe/bar life. Easter (Holy Week) is nothing more spectacular to see & the devotion of the Spanish people. We have a large Agricultural Show in April/May. Main Feria for a week at the end of August and a The annual Blues Festival is held in June/July A Medieval Market where people come from all over Spain, bringing their produce & crafts to sell & most of the Concerts are held out doors & are free. The surrounding attraction & places to visit are too numerous to list but we have prepared files with details of 'Places to Visit', like Sevilla, Cordoba, Malaga, Granada and it's interesting attractions. For activites you are totally spoilt, as you can have anything from a Relaxing Holiday - day in the Apartment reading, sun bathing, Hot Tub/ Jacuzzi or a plunge in the pool, It is quite quiet as the Apartment is on the 3rd floor & you tend not to hear the day to day activities. Activities Holiday - golf, rock climbing, beach activities, tennis, horse riding, rambling,etc.

"Fantastic views, excellent accommodation"

Upon arrival we were shown to our apartment, were we received a welcome basket filled with local wine, cheese, bread and fruit. The views from the apartment are breathtaking, especially on a clear day. The weather stayed mainly dry and warm although we had a few damp days. The apartment has a lovely double bed and en suite, typical Spanish look and feel with white walls but mixed with little busts of colour on the bedding and lampshades. The apartment has a small sitting room and kitchen where we can be independent and cook our breakfasts and lunch. The town itself has many areas to explore. I would recommend walking through the castle grounds (you can see the castle from the apartment) and talking a walk through the main town filled with lovely boutique shops, a wonder through the market is definitely recommend to experience Spanish life! Good value for money both for the apartment and location.

"5 Star Holiday Base"

The apartment is very well equiped, really comfortable and well situated with views over the local area and to the hills beyond from the spacious private terrace. The info and fotos on the website are absolutely accurate. Tom and Frances were excellent hosts and enjoyed sharing their love and knowledge of the area. Tom took time to give us a short aclimatisation trip. We flew into Malaga Airport and Tom's driving instructions to the apartment were spot on.
Chose Antequera as a base for touring Andalucia but found the town itself charming and worthy of a visit in itself.
