Casa Rosa has a fully fitted kitchen including a conventional gas cooker with a grill and 4 rings. There is a 'combination microwave' (which also acts as an oven and grill).
The accommodation includes two bedrooms - one has an en suite shower room and is accessed off the main living area of the villa. The second bedroom has an en suite bathroom - but has the benefit of access via its own separate front door. Casa Rosa therefore is ideal for either 1 or 2 couples, or a family with older children, due to the added privacy.
|Further details outdoors|
Fully tiled magnficent swimming pool (10m x 5 m with Roman steps) plus large surrounding terrace with sunloungers, parasols and outdoor shower.
There is a separate utility room at the bottom of the garden housing a washing machine, freezer and additional fridge plus iron and ironing board. There is a small library with books, games, CDs and DVDs. Several outdoor games including gigantic chess and 'jenga' are provided. Laundry and towels and cleaning all included.
Casa Rosa is set in a large plot with one other 2 bed villa (known as Casa Marguerita) within gardens that feature a large number of walnut, fruit and olive trees, and which offer guests the opportunity to enjoy stunning countryside and mountain views. A beautiful patio with pergola covered by climbing plants sits at the front of the villa. Together with quality wooden furniture, a BBQ and surrounded by potted flowers this area is perfect for alfresco dining, any time of the day.
The lovely gardens include additional seating areas for guests to enjoy the tranquility and scenery. The clear star-studded night sky at Walnut Farm is also truly breath taking!
10% 'Early Bird discount' can be deducted if bookings made by 31st Jan 2015 for 2014 bookings (excluding mid July - end Aug)
The heated swimming pool is open from April to November and shared only with guests from the other villa. Walnut Farm is completeley enclosed.
Casa Rosa is Ideal for 2 couples sharing or for a couple with older chidren as one of the bedrooms has a separate entrance, which is great for added privacy. This makes it not as suitable for families with very young children. The other villa, Casa Marguerita (ref 10108), would suit young children better.
The Andalucia region
Our guests have told us that Walnut Farm is ideally located for getting to see many different attractions, both locally and further afield. Granada (1 Hour) Seville (1.5 hours) Gibraltar ( 1.5 hours) Ronda (45 mins) and Cordoba are all well worth seeing. Some travel writers have dubbed the region "The Andalucian Lake District " and the area remains unspoilt by commercialism. Between the craggy mountains surrounding Ronda and Antequera there are around 6 lakes, each one a magnet for wildlife. The turquoise lakes of El Chorro are surrounded by soaring limestone crags with eagles frequently spotted circling around. There is also a fantastic railway walk which climbs around the gorge. Ski-ing in the Sierra Nevada is just over an hour away.
The climate - Summers are always very hot with rain rare between May and October. Winter months can still be warm but evenings are noticeably cooler.
Antequera, just 10 mins away from Walnut Farm is a Roman Town with many historic buildings, beautiful churches, a Moorish Castle, bullring, and other places of interest, and you can join a "Town Trail" from the Tourist Information office. Enjoy tapas, a special evening meal or just a drink in one of the many bars and restaurants. Just 10 minutes out of Antequera you can vist the unique and incredibly spectacular scenery of El Torcal - with many signposted walks of varying length and difficulty.
Fuentra de Piedra, a natural salt water lake and ornithologists paradise with thousands of flamingoes and other wildlfe is only 30 mins away. Granada and the magnificent Alhambra Palace is definitely not to be missed, and Seville one of the largest historical centres in Europe can be reached by car or from the train station in Antequera. Cordoba with its Great Mosque is considered the eighth wonder of the world. Closer by Villanueva de Trabucco, Villanueva de Rosario and Colmenar are typical Spanish villages.
Lake Iznajar (about 40 mins) has a beach and you can rent pedaloes or canoes and go sailing. Lake Vinuela is another beautiful lake where you can find several restaurants with wonderful views to enjoy. There are many local fiestas taking place throughout the Summer in all the nearby villages. The larger ones in Malaga and Antequera usually take place in August.

This was our second visit, this we brought our friends to enjoy the tranquility and sunshine. We all relaxed into the Spanish lifestyle of lazy days by the pool, long lunches and late night sat around the barbeque, within half an hour of arrival. The journey from the airport took around 40 mins and was well signposted. The welcome pack gave us time to settle in before doing a big shop the next day in the charming town of Antequera, a trip of about 15 mins, where we found all the shopping we could ever need, including Aldi and Lidl. Also in the town are many bars serving tapas, ice cream parlours and excellent restaurants. On the way back we called in at one of the three hotels at our junction, for a coffee and use the free Wi Fi, or weefee as the locals pronounce it. We thought we would miss the internet coverage, but its absence adds to the feeling of escaping the ratrace at home. Although we spent most of our time at the villas, we did venture to visit the Alhambra in Granada (stunning!) and a treat for the kids - a day at the water park in Torremolinos. We will come again and our friends have vowed to return with other members of their family. A great place for two families or one huge one to stay and relax. A part of Spain as yet unspoilt by mass tourism but stiill with all life's nessecities.

"Gave us everything and more for a complete wind down and chill out."
If you want to "get away from it all" in an idyllic rural setting and yet within easy reach of civilisation if you want it then this is the place. Beautifully appointed traditional finca with large pool and extensive outside entertaining and barbeque area. If you want beaches crowded with tourists and English pubs then this is not for you!! EXCELLENT.

This has got to be one of the best holidays we have taken. The villa was lovely and had everything we could want for a relaxing holiday. The children didn't come out of the pool the whole time we were there and we are going to book for next year with friends.
