The spacious ‘L' shaped sitting room and dining area has breathtaking views overlooking the lake and is the ideal place to snuggle up. The traditional inset fireplace and underfloor heating mean that this house is an all year round favourite. Around the corner of the ‘L' shaped sitting room, there is a dining area with a beautiful dining table that easily seats 8, leaving ample space for the 2 highchairs. The dining area is also accessible from the kitchen and leads out to the elegant conservatory.
Leading off the sitting room, there is an arched doorway to a compact but very well laid out kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a huge American style refrigerator, a built in microwave, an oven (mid level) and all the plastic cups, plates, etc that you could want. The pantry is also stocked with everyday goods such as oil, spices, ketchups, etc, so along with the welcome pack of local produce and the herb garden, very little stock cupboard shopping will be necessary.
The large conservatory, with comfy chairs, a dining area and a plethora of toys also benefits from electric canopies and shutters to keep it nice and cool in the summer sun. This in turn leads to the shaded patio area with views over the lake and an outdoor dining area and BBQ.
The ground floor master bedroom has an en-suite shower and has patio doors which open onto small stone courtyard with an outdoor table and chairs and a large parasol.
Upstairs the stylish but simple bedrooms all lead off a central landing and are equipped with free standing fans, blackout blinds and electric shutters. The two double bedrooms have patio doors giving access to a balcony and formidable views of Lake Annecy and the Alps.
The fourth bedroom is ideal for the children and is extremely spacious. It has twin beds and a beautiful traditional wooden cot and matching wooden dresser/changer.
Toiletries, towels and bathrobes (including child sized ones) are all provided in the light and airy first floor bathrooms. The main bathroom has a bath and over bath shower and the second has a large shower, which along with the downstairs shower room, means that there are plenty of bathrooms even if the house is at full capacity.
The washing machine and tumble dryer are situated in the basement laundry room along with a large store of extra paddling pools, sledges, outdoor furniture, ball games and a veritable library of board games for all ages.

The large garden is fully enclosed and has a covered pool so your children can play safely. The stunning location means that mums and dads will be unable to resist relaxing outside, either in the pool, lounging by the pool or dining alfresco in either of the outdoor dining areas.
The heated saline swimming pool is fully covered by a telescopic cover (or abri) which allows the pool to be available often from April through to October although in the earlier and later months of the year, the temperature of the pool (even with the heating) will be very dependent on the weather conditions. The pool is inaccessible until an adult opens it and is able to supervise the children.
Parent Point: Please note from the master bedroom there are several steps down to the courtyard. The property is located on a hillside and the garden has 3 terraces. A heightened level of supervision will be need with very young children.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region
Located in the South-East of France, between Paris (two hours by TGV) and the French Riviera/Côte d'Azur, Rhône-Alpes is a region of diversity: mountains, including Mont Blanc (the highest peak in Europe at 15,771 feet), four natural parks (Vanoise, Vercors, Pilat and Ecrins), the Massif Central, vineyards, endless lavender fields and wild pure lakes are among the most beautiful landscapes in the world. Rhône-Alps is ideal for outdoor buffs!
With wines such as Beaujolais and Côtes-du-Rhône, local cheeses and wonderful regional dishes, there's also plenty to interest the gastronomy lover!
The Annecy / Doussard area
Lake Annecy is a gem! It is the second largest lake in France, nestling in the valley, surrounded by the most spectacular views of the French Alps. It is also renowned as Europe's cleanest lake because of strict environmental regulations introduced in the 1960s and there are plenty of beaches (some with lifeguards) which make the lake perfect for swimming and water sports.
The house is located on the edge of one of the many picturesque villages around Lake Annecy, so has many family friendly facilities in walking/cycling distance. The nearest lakeside beach is less that 5 minutes walk away and there are endless other walks from the door and beaches to choose from.
There is also a fantastic cycle track between the garden and the lake, it runs all the way alongside the lake and is perfect for the bikes and trailers provided in this house - adult bikes, child seat, third wheel bike and bike trailer. It would be possible to spend your entire holiday in this house just walking and cycling everywhere instead of using the car.
For the winter, the house is 20 minutes drive from a great area to teach young children to ski; these slopes are nursery slopes only. 6 Euros a day for a ski pass (2008/9 price) and the children ski for free. Other ski resorts are between 30 minutes to an hour depending on where you want to go (La Clusaz, Meribel, Grand Bornand, Manigod and many more). There is a new road that has decreased the journey time from Geneva airport to 40mins.
The activities in this area are endless! Waterskiing, tree climbing, tennis, crazy golf, horseriding and many more parks, canals, spas, endless restaurants and some wonderful shopping too; you will not be short or activities at this property!

Whilst we are packing up Les Saivaignes, I thought I would type you a quick email and let you know that we have had an amazing week here. Everything was perfect for us - the house is equipped with everything we need, is incredibly comfortable and WOW - what an area, it is just too amazing to be true. Our 3 girls; Holly - 4 years, Emilia - 2.5 years and Zahra - 1.5 years, have had a super time playing with all the toys, going on adventures in the garden, swimming in the pool and cycling in the trailer / tow along bike. All too easy!
We love this house and will definitely return but next time we will stay longer, a week is too short! We have hired a lot of houses throughout Spain, Italy, UK and Australia. Les Saivaignes has been the most relaxing houses / holidays we have had with the girls. The managers here (Flyn and Meriel) are delightful and could not be more welcoming and helpful, it was soooooo nice to have the initial shop for the week done for us and unpacked into the house!
This is the first time we have used the Tots to Travel website and we will be recommending it to all our friends with toddlers.
