ART OF LIVING, GASTRONOMY AND LOCAL ATMOSPHERE
Coming in Pays de Savoie (Savoie and Haute Savoie departments) is entering a region that has borders with Switzerland and Italy, and a long and complex history. The final point of this history was in 1860 when Savoie was definitely incorporated into France.
Despite the influences linked to the various occupations of the territory throughout the centuries, the Alpine and mountain character is still very present in every day life : the respect and love for nature and mountains, the discretion in human relationships, the love for work well done.
Marked by this history, the local gastronomy has taken advantage of both the mountain traditions and the developments of tourism since 150 years : here the traditional mountain dishes get along with great gastronomic cuisine, illustrated by 5 chefs having received stars from the famous Guide Michelin.
The most famous local products are cheeses, the closest to Annecy are Reblochon and Tome des Bauges.
The lake itself offers fine fishes such as Féra or Omble Chevalier.
There is another important speciality : the chocolate factories are famous, in particular with the "Roseau" filled with mountain liqueur!
And just like almost everywhere in France, our 2 departments have an old wine making tradition, in particular renowned white wines like Apremont and Roussette.
Annecy and Annecy le vieux and especially the “Albigny” area, is the most lakeside and central area of the lake Annecy.
Next to the city historical centre and at only 100 meters form the lake side, the beach, the casino and the cycling lane, very few apartment can provide some many amenities with such a perfect location.
From the apartment you can shop, cycle all around the lake, water ski, sailing school is only at 200 m, Tennis club at 300 m, Golf course of the lake Annecy at 10 mn, you can start trekking in the surrounding mountain, or decide to reach the ski resorts of la Clusaz (35 km) or the Mont Blanc and Chamonix (1 hour), shopping and city centre can be reach walking or 5 minutes by bus (bus stop at the building door.
You can choose to visit the East bank (Plein Soleil) or Left bank (Rive Gauche) of the lakeside with its charming villages (Veyrier du lac, Menthon Saint Bernard, Talloires, Sévrier, Saint Jorioz, Duingt) with its famous “Guinguettes” or gastronomic famous restaurants, Etc.

"Conveniently placed for all the pleasures of Annecy"
The apartment was really nice and well equipped. We were met by the owner who was very helpful and welcoming. The week was exceptionally hot and as the lounge apartment had large double aspect windows with no blinds or curtains it did get uncomfortable at times but apart from that we were very pleased with the apartment and had a great time. Just one tiny complaint, although it said on the description there was a DVD player we could not find it and reported it to the owner who apologised and said unfortunately there was not one as he had just purchased a new TV and needed to get a player that was compatible. We thought that one would appear during the week but it did not and there is only so much rolling news on the English channel that you can watch. The outside of the apartment block was a little dated and grubby but on the whole a great apartment and would recommend it and would book it again

"Fabulous apartment that offers everything"
We didn't want to leave this wonderful apartment. It had everything we wanted and the owner Alexandre put himself out to ensure our stay was comfortable and easy. The apartment had everything you would want including coffee machine, toaster and everything else you want in a kitchen and in good order and clean. Wifi was great and cable TV with a number of English channels. Parking was gated which was good. To have your meal on the deck was just great, let alone all the neat food outlets just down stairs to get all you need. Only 5 minutes walk to the lake and not much further to hire bikes that we loved to do. Walking to the market and the centre of town was about 15 minutes. All so easy. The spare bedroom has only 2 very small beds so suitable for children or maybe one adult only. No air con but 2 stand fans were quiet and we found excellent. Bathroom worked well and great having wash machine. Just can't talk highly enough. A small problem was the noisy-ness of the timber floor if you wanted to creep to the bathroom, but was not worth worrying over.
