Shandor Cottage is located at the seafront within Annalong village, only yards from the historic harbour. Originally built in the 1800's as a fisherman's cottage it is an attractive single storey cottage, recently refurbished to a high standard to provide bright and spacious accommodation with all of today's conveniences.

The Cornmill at Annalong. Annalong Cornmill was built in the 1800s and operated until the 1960s and was one of the last working watermills in Northern Ireland. It contains a grain drying kiln and three pairs of millstones. It is powered by a 15ft water wheel and a 1920s Marshall "hot-bulb" 20hp engine. Restoration began in 1983 after it was acquired by Newry and Mourne District Council, and it reopened in 1985.
Within a short distance from Annalong, the beautiful Mourne Mountains with the Silent Valley and Spelga Dam can be found along with several beautiful forest parks such as Castlewellan, Donard and Tollymore.
Newcastle. The nearby town of Newcastle has all the usual seaside attractions - amusements, restaurants and takeaways, caravan parks, a boating lake, a bowling green and golf course, harbour, parkland and promenade. It also has many pubs.
Kilkeel is located on the South East coast of Co. Down in Northern Ireland. The area is surrounded by the Irish Sea on two sides and the Mourne Mountains on the other two sides. Kilkeel has a number of activities to offer including, Tennis Courts, Bowling, Swimming all at the local Leisure Centre, an 18 hole Golf course, Sea & Game fishing, Walking and climbing, Golf driving ranges, 18 hole Pitch & Putt course, Cinema, popular beach at Cranfield, Riding, good food and drink, Cinema, Bingo. There are also a number of interesting places to visit in the local area; Kilkeel Harbour to see the fishing boats and the fishing exhibition at the Nauticulus Centre; Silent Valley and Spelga reservoirs; electric hill at Spelga Dam to name a few.

Annalong area
Annalong is a picturesque fishing village with its historic harbour and cornmill dating back to the 1600's, situated at the foot of the beautiful Mourne Mountains in County Down, Northern Ireland.

How to get there
Ryanair have cheap flights to Dublin from UK from as little as £14 including taxes. Dublin is about 60 miles away from Annalong, Easyjet and BMI baby have cheap flights to Belfast. It is 35 miles to Annalong from Belfast. There are various ferry services to Ireland. Stranraer to Belfast [Stena Line] or Cairnryan to Larne [P & O]. Or alternatively Seacat go from Troon to Belfast and there are numerous ferries into Dublin and Dun Laoghaire.

Our cottage is about 100 yards from pebble beach, 150 yards from harbour, 150 yards from local restaurant and close to local supermarket we are detached with private parking rear walled garden with deck area in the garden the large garage doubles as a play area darts football etc.
We have SKY in all rooms also.
