About the home

The restored 200 year old mansion that has been transformed into a luxurious setting for leisure and pleasure, set amidst a legacy of a glorious past. Characteristic Indo-Portuguese mansion layout with rooms arranged around a central open courtyard. The rooms have high ceilings constructed in teak wood with terracotta tiles, that maintain the cool environment. Shuttered oyster shell windows, illuminate and offer privacy.

The garden villa, Villa Jardim has been remodeled in the Indo–Portuguese style that is unique to Goa, with a veranda and terrace over looking the stunning infinity swimming pool, and the peaceful garden rich in flora and fauna. The villa offers stylish comfortable accommodation with modern facilities that include air-conditioning.

Villa Jardim bedrooms have a large terrace that is cooled by the fresh breeze. Dine on the veranda over-looking the garden and in the balmy evenings romanced by candle light. The European Chef in the kitchen of house offers superb Mediterranean cuisine. Enjoy the swimming pool or lounge on the deck, The Villa staff will be on call to assist with shopping, arrange transport, restaurant bookings and activities.

The Villa Goa sleeps up to 10 people in three double and two twin bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms. Reservations can be made for smaller groups of 4 to 8 people.

VILLA
The 6,000 sq ft mansion provides entrance balcáo with original oyster shell windows a traditional meeting place for the ancestors family and guests, large reception with 7 meter high ceiling constructed in teak wood and terracotta tiles provides a cool retreat overlooking the formal terraced garden, media room with 'state of the art' electronics for your entertainment, dinning opens to the courtyard, kitchen and utility room with balcáo. Accommodates 6 people in two double and one twin bedroom all with en-suite bathrooms.

VILLA JARDIM
The villa in the garden. Provides a provides a private retreat with veranda and terraces, sitting room with comfortable exclusive furniture, contemporary styling and entertainment systems, and a galley kitchen. Upstairs the bedrooms can be accessed directly from the outside. Sleeps four people in one double and one twin bedroom, the rooms have double doors that open onto a large terrace where you can enjoy the view of the sub-tropical garden and exotic birds. Both have beautifully designed en-suite bathrooms with every modern convenience that includes power showers.

MENU
Mediterranean recipes using top quality ingredients when they are at their seasonal best. Fresh locally grown fruits, vegetables, herbs & spices. Fish and crustaceans from the harbour market when the fishing boats unload their Arabian Sea catch. Healthy ingredients inspire the cook's repertoire of delicious dishes. To start the day freshly squeezed juice, muesli, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, home-made breads & marmalade, and from the Indian plantations, coffee & tea.

For dinner a different fixed menu is offered everyday that is tailored to your diet. For example an evening meal begins with fresh juice with sparkling dry wine followed by watermelon salad with Parma ham, Parmigiani Reggiano and mint. Main course of nutmeg chicken roasted at a high temperature which intensifies the flavour of the dish or perhaps baked sea bass stuffed with herbs served in it's own jus with potatoes and roasted peppers with basil. Desserts include dark chocolate truffle, crispy mango stacks with fruit coulis, and espresso flavoured creme caramel.

An example of a vegetarian meal starts with melon tonic followed by sour cucumber salad with fresh dill and crispy bread rolls. Main course of tagliatelle with walnut sauce or red onion & cream cheese pastries served with seasonal vegetables. For dessert caramelized upside down pear pie or baked bananas with ice cream.

SWIMMING POOL
The Goa Villa facilities include a private 18m x 5m x 1.5m deep lap pool that is enhanced with the finest cool blue Italian glass mosaics, the crystal clear water reflecting the blue sky. Sunbathe, relax on the teak sun loungers under the parasols, refreshing drinks can be served by the villa staff.

GARDENS
The formal manicured terraced gardens at the front of the property are in contrast to the lush planted chaos of the sub-tropical garden at the rear of the property. Stroll and enjoy the flora and fauna in 1 1/2 acres of this tropical paradise. The shaded pergola is perfect for outdoor dining.

The Goa / West India / Goa region

The Anjuna / Assagao area

Assagao, which is considered one of the most fashionable residential areas in Goa, is an ideal hide out that is gifted with natural beauty, temperate climate and lies in a valley clothed in cashew groves. It is close to Anjuna, Vagator and the quiet beaches in North Goa, as well as the best restaurants and Mapusa market town.

There are beauty and well-being treatments & classes available that include; Ayurveda, Yoga, Watsu, along with relaxation and alternative healing therapies. The Villa Goa Manager will be happy to assist in making the arrangements and bookings.

Also, in Assagao there are a number of shops and cafe's that include; 'Villa Blanc' it is close by and perfect for breakfast or lunch serving fresh salads and warm European dishes in a relaxing environment. 'Story of India' showcases Indian Contemporary Fashions and has an in-door out-door coffee shop. 'Pink India' that would be happy to visit you at The Villa Goa, it is an International brand that caters for the boho chic woman that offers silk garments that are machine washable and accessories in exclusive Pink India prints. Within walking distance is the 'Cheshire Cat' that is housed in one of the mansion in the area, the galleries display hand crafted jewellery by their workshop team and includes jewels by the glamorous Emma Chapman, the award winning London and Paris fashion week jewellery designer.

Mapusa Market, 5 minutes away, is especially busy on Friday for the big market where you can find almost anything. Also, in Mapusa the Union Pharmacy is an excellent Ayurvedic pharmacy with an antidote for almost all health concerns. 10 minutes away by car, the famous Wednesday Flea Market in Anjuna is where you will find foreigners and clothes and jewellery, and an endless labyrinth of sellers. The beach here has the most alluring and relaxing stretch of sand with a number of good eating and drinking options.

Other beaches in North Goa included Morjim, Aswem, Mandrem and Arambol, that have the least amount of tourists and vendors. The area is scattered with good beach shacks, some with sun beds and swimming is fantastic. 'La Plage', Aswen, is situated on one of Goa's finest stretches of beach, with an elegant atmosphere and superb French Fusion cuisine.

There are scheduled flights from most international airports in the world to Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi. These airports have convenient domestic flight connections direct to Goa. Goa is only a 1 hour flight from Mumbai and Bangalore, and 3 hours from Delhi.
