Further details indoors:
This Château is all about space, style and welcome – warm, inviting and relaxed ambiance in a gorgeous, “Turrets and Tower” fairy-tale castle. And enough room – even in a party of 26 - to escape from the hubbub for a bit of peace and quiet when you choose.
The Chateau’s chic interiors have been featured in design and travel magazines all over the world. Nine bedrooms, all large, individually designed and furnished with style, and bathrooms that are all testaments to decadence and pampering.
A firm favourite with younger guests, one bedroom is a very chic and stylish “dorm” with four single beds and huge flat screen TV and DVD player – great fun for kids, and it gives them a bit of space of their own away from those noisy and disruptive adults! There are six additional beds which may be added to any of the bedrooms, providing accommodation for 26 in total.
Every bedroom has a flat screen TV and DVD player, hair dryer, bath robes and crisp white cotton bed linen, whilst every bathroom has complimentary bathing products and big fluffy towels.
There are three huge salons to relax in – each opening onto the rear terrace with its bistro tables and parasols. The Stone Salon includes a bar which can be stocked for you or supplied dry for you to stock yourself. The Piano Salon has a Baby Grand for those wishing to get musically creative, while the White Salon is a calm and relaxed space to simply sit and contemplate the formal gardens.
The private cinema has a nine foot screen and surround sound system. The extensive DVD library can also be raided for watching in the privacy of your room, there is Wi-Fi, satellite TV, and there’s a music area with amps and guitars for the more tuneful guests, while the Billiard Room contains a full size American Pool Table.
There is also a huge Dining Hall with tables to seat all your guests in one go of you wish, perfect for everyone – kids included – to eat together. And of course there is a kitchen, fully equipped and restaurant standard for those wishing to be Chef for a while. If you want a break from the cooking, the Chateau can cater for you – anything from a one-off celebration meal to full board every day. And within the hire rate is a housekeeping service provided for a couple of hours each day, which you can increase should you wish.
Further details outdoors:
There are 5 acres of private grounds, mature trees, and manicured lawns, all magnificently framed by a stone wall. There is a courtyard terrace perfect for outdoor dining, a secure swimming pool (4.5mx6m), and numerous open spaces for children’s activities and ball games, including the legendary football pitch!
Parking is no problem with plenty of space for cars. The games room has a full sized table tennis table, a table football table, PlayStation with games, bikes, skateboards, frisbees and footballs.

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Charente region
On the Atlantic coast between the châteaux of the Loire Valley and the Bordeaux vineyards, lies Poitou-Charentes and the Vendee. This is one of the sunniest corners of the western coastline of France.
There is an astonishing average of 2250 hours of sunshine a year, making Poitou-Charentes one of the most consistently desirable places to visit in France. The warm air might give you the impression you're in the Mediterranean, the coast however with its dunes, pine forests and long beaches, are unmistakably Atlantic.
Further inland you find the River Charente and valley that epitomises rural France. The Charentes was once a busy industrial shipping inland waterway, today it's a peaceful lush land with plenty of vineyards and chateau.
There are plenty of cities and lively resorts that hold great charm and interest in the Poitou-Charentes region of France. Noirmoutier, Re, Oleron, Cognac, Poitiers and La Rochelle are all have their own appeal.
The principle town of Poitou-Charentes is La Rochelle, which is one of the prettiest and most distinctive towns in France. It is worth noting that the coast around La Rochelle is great for family holidays with shallow waters and miles of safe beaches. This historic and pretty town now has a modern marina that compliments the old port, and the waterfront restaurants are always busy and are of a high quality. And perched on a hilltop overlooking two rivers, Poitiers for its ecclesiastical architecture and history is worth a day trip at least.
Just northwest of Poitou-Charentes lies the rural department of the Vendee. The Vendee is dramatically crossed by four rivers, the Sèvre Nantaise, the Vendée, the Lay and the Sèvre Niortaise (which is over 150km long). The coast of the Vendée stretches to over 160km of mostly sandy beaches, many of them surprisingly unpopulated.
The Vendee has an exceptionally mild climate, that has long attracted large numbers tourists from France and abroad. Some of the more popular resorts include Les Sables d'Ollone, La Tranche-sur-Mer and St Jean de Monts. Several of the Vendee’s beaches are "blue flagged" for cleanliness.
Cognac is made in the Charente so a trip to the medieval town is always interesting! This locally produced spirit is world famous. And the great food speciality of the Vendee and Poitou-Charentes is oysters.
With the climate, history and cuisine, Vendee and Poitou-Charentes is among the most popular holiday chateau destinations in France.
The Angouleme area
On the borders of the Charente and the Dordogne.
Inland, the chief attractions include the Marais Poitevin (an area of marshlands famed for wildlife), the forested area around the village of Mervent, the rolling countryside of the Bocage and the historical theme park at the Puy du Fou. However, the main attraction and focus of the Vendee is the 90 kilometre stretch of coast between scenic Ile de Noirmoutier, and the stylish and chic Les Sables-d'Olonne. Les Sables-d'Olonne is popular with the Parisians and has an excellent art collection. And Ile de Noirmoutier was a monastic settlement in the 7th century and now is one of France's premier tourist resorts.
