The maison is situated on the edge of the picturesque village of La Roche Canillac and La Roche Bass, and near the woodland and La Doustre gorge.
Bordering the River Loire, it is beautifully situated in parkland and has superb gardens and orchards covering almost fifteen acres.The château has been comprehensively restored by the owner who has successfully achieved both regal décor and sumptuous comfort with its wealth of elegant furnishings. Set against a background of mature trees, its Wedgwood blue shutters set off the soft cream stone of the château walls.

Provided the owner is given sufficient notice, there is no limit on what can be arranged. She would be delighted to help organise some or all meals. Her highly recommended home made marmalades and jams make breakfasts a particular treat.
The Loire Valley / Maine-et-Loire region
The Loire Valley has long been a favourite spot for poets and artists, a region of France famous for its tranquil beauty, its undulating wooded hills, numerous vineyards, magnificent châteaus, and, of course, its wonderful cuisine.
The Angers area
The nearest town of La Roche-Canillac has good restaurants and shops for all your necessary provisions and gourmet treats, and it is only a short walk to the village shop and bakery. The picturesque surrounding towns and villages, such as Argentat sur Dordogne and Tulle, are blessed with numerous auberges, restaurants and markets. The surrounding country is ideal for exploration on foot or bike, with trails meandering throughout this intriguing countryside and around the villages. Fishing and swimming are available on the nearby lakes, as well as many organised sports and amusements, such as kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking or orienteering.
