Live the legend of the goddess at the hilltop spot where her temple once stood, one of the most celebrated places in the ancient Greek world for its association with the cult of Aphrodite.
Let the past come to life in the land where Aphrodite once roamed and ancient pilgrims came from far and wide to worship her.

Pegeia: Byzantine Marvels
Pegeia, perched on a hillside overlooking the sea, is known for the fountains in its picturesque village square, a beautiful construction with typical arches, where women used to meet in days gone by in order to wash their clothes and fetch water. The village itself is renowned for its spectacular views, while the coastline below has one of the best sandy beaches of the Paphos region at Coral Bay, which each year is awarded with a Blue Flag for its bathing water quality.
If you love culture and history, stop off at the church of Agios Georgios and admire some superb examples of Byzantine art in the form of a 6th century basilica complex with extensive panels of geometric and animal floor mosaics, rare in Christian iconography. Or visit Maa-Paleokastro, the site, on a peninsula near Coral Bay, where the Mycenaean Greeks first landed in Cyprus in the Bronze Age.
Experience the meaning of real relaxation in the Polis tis Chrysochous area, the least developed coastline of Cyprus. The Akamas National Park will appeal to nature lovers or those in search of peace and quiet. It is an area of exceptional beauty with rocky promontories, sandy coves and "The Baths of Aphrodite". This is where, according to mythology, the goddess Aphrodite frolicked with her lovers, bathing in a fresh-water grotto shaded by a wild fig tree.

ON ARRIVAL at your holiday home, you can expect a lovely welcome from our key holders and a pack (if you request it) to help you over the initial period before you are able to shop. DRIVING : Traffic drives on the left in Cyprus just as Britain, and all road signs are in English/Greek. Driving etiquette is based on the UK Highway Code, and the average driver should have no fear of renting a car in Cyprus. Fuel is cheaper than UK, and hire cars are young, clean and reliable. Hire cost is also very reasonably priced in comparison with many countries.(contact us for suggested companies). Unless you have hired a car, and are collecting it at the airport Taxi's are currently the only public transport operating between the airport and Anarita. ENTERTAINMENT: Just 5 minutes drive from Anarita is the famous Aphrodites rock where you can swim in the turquoise sea. Or drive up to the restaurant high on the rock above and marvel at the spectacular views. Maybe you prefer to cater for yourself? Then pack your own treats and use the free picnic facilities nearby, again offering excellent views. 5 mins drive to Asprokremos Dam and great walks. Also take a trip to the famous Timi market which is open every Sunday and have a browse. It is only a 2 minutes down the road. Nearby Kato Paphos has a lovely harbour area with many shops, bars and restaurants, and various entertaining sailing trips and midnight cruises can also be booked from here. Don't miss seeing the sun set over the harbour which is a sight well worth a photograph! Next to the harbour is the Heritage centre where you can see and actually walk amongst ancient mosaics with a fascinating history. Close too is the famous Tombs of the Kings, again part of the rich cultural heritage of the town. Paphos also has cinemas, 10 pin bowling,a couple of kart tracks, a waterpark and a zoo.If you like shopping a brand new shopping mall has opened in Paphos. A visit to the Troodos mountains is also a 'must' as the scenery is totally different. Feeling adventurous? Hire a quad bike and really see the region, or maybe an all day jeep safari which will take you to places normal cars cannot reach. Whatever you choose there is plenty to see, and remember the weather is Guaranteed!
This house although 6 years old has only really been used by ourselves and our family, with just occasional guests, which is why it is in such excellent order. We are now putting it on to the rental market for this year 2014.

Year property purchased: 2008
Why this location?
We bought a townhouse in Anarita because it is a typical, friendly cypriat village. It is easily possible to stroll from the house to either a shop, bank, bus stop or restaurant. A short drive can include more lovely villages and 10 minutes on the Highway means Paphos town, harbour, waterpark and beaches are available. Also the house being very convenient for the airport is a plus point. Access to the mountains is easy from Anarita too, and with three excellent golf courses just 10 minutes away the facilities are there if you want them. So to put it simply, it is a house on a lovely complex with great permanent neighbours in a quiet village but yet so close to good quality amenities.
What are the unique benefits of the property?
The beauty of a holiday in Cyprus is the weather, language and driving. The temperature rarely falls below 15 degrees during the day, even in winter, so whenever we go there the sun is almost guaranteed.. Almost everyone speaks English which makes things very easy if you need to ask anything, and with motoring on the same side of the road as the UK, it all drops into place nicely and reduces the hassle of visiting a foreign country considerably. There is a wide choice of holiday homes but often they are just maintained to a minimum standard. Having used the house ourselves we are confident that it has everything needed for a relaxing and problem free holiday.
