The Paphos region

It is easy to understand the legend about Greece's goddess of love, Aphrodite, who was born from the waves on Cyprus' beaches. The charming harbour town of Paphos is to be found in Aphrodite's birth canal, on the west coast of the island. Paphos, which was named after Aphrodites's daughter is near the stone Petra tou Romiou where Aphrodite is said to have emerged in the sea foam. Those who swim around the stone ten times are supposed to look ten years younger.

With its 300 days of sunshine a year Cyprus is a hot tourist destination and Paphos is a popular holiday destination, not only because of the weather, but because of its beautiful coastline/scenery and history.

The area offers plenty of activities for all age groups, whether it be relaxing on the beach, to trying out the different water sports or if you prefer a spot of walking or mountain biking.

In the Winter, skiers can even enjoy a spot of snow in the Troodos Mountains.

The old town of Paphos has a great variety of shops with a lovely old covered market. Also many ancient Roman/Greek archaeological sites. If you prefer somewhere a bit livelier go down the hill to Paphos Harbour where visitors can stroll along the promenade, enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants or even take a boat/fishing trip. There is even a local water park.

If you prefer a lively night life, visit the famous bar street area, where Paphos offers plenty of live music, pubs, clubs & disco - something for everyone.

Anarita

Anarita is a lovely traditional Cypriot village situated 5 mins from Paphos airport. Anarita Valley is located at the edge of the village where a 3 min walk takes you to the main High Street where you can find the local Church, tavernas & village supermarket.

Mix with the locals at the weekly market held in the neighbouring village of Timi.

A short drive will take you to the villages of Mandria and Kouklia where you will find more local tavernas providing good quality/good value food.

"fantastic"

fantastic, from the moment we arrived and had to find the place in the dark- the directions were spot on. the house clean and tidy on arrival. the location ideal just outside the town of Paphos. you do need a car- but they're easy to hire from the airport. they drive on the left so easy driving in Cyprus. the house is close to the airport and I was worried about plane noise at night, but you can't hear them at all. the Pool was great for kids, a few footsteps away from the patio. The house contained everything you could need for a few weeks stay.
we have rated this a definite 5* and we would happily recommend this place and we are considering requesting to book it again next year.

"Back again...as beautiful as before"

Having had such a great time last year, we decided to come back to Anarita Valley again. The house is clean, well maintained,and everything you could ask for on holiday.
Like last year, our children met up with other chidren staying and had suchfun. As the terrace over looks the pool, we could watch them easily.
We could recommend staying here with a family, or as a quite holiday, and give it 5 Stars !

"Excellent"

Having recently stayed at this property with my wife for a fortnight I can only describe it as excellent and hope to rebook in the future.The property / development is spotless and of a very high standard with everything basically at your fingertips.The local villages and tavernas offer all that one would require in the way of food and drink and limited shopping.A car is neccessary if one wants to do more serious shopping or explore the area and this is the perfect location to do so from.For a relaxing holiday this is the perfect location with good sized pools including kiddies and a well equipped gym with air con for the more physically active.All in All 10 out of 10

"Excellent and clean well kept townhouse."

Stayed here for 2 weeks in August / Sept 2011 in this lovely 2 story town house in a prime position over looking the pool, which is ideal if you have children as you can watch them all day in the privacy of your own patio. The patio area is large enough to BBQ and sit around a table for dinner, lovely when it's dark and the pool lights are on.

There are two bedrooms upstairs with ensuites with the master bedroom having a small balconey over looking the pool.
The whole house is very well equipped, very clean and tidy,
The complex is also very clean and tidy and was quiet and relaxing.
We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely go back.
The owners Dean and Lynn were very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for you.

"Perfect place for a family - great pool - Spotless house"

We stayed here for 10 days in August 2011. The owners ere very helpful and friendly, offering us loads of local information before we stayed. The friendly, local rep came to see us when we arrived to check all was Ok, which was great.
The house was imaculate. Very clean and tidy; the kitchen is well equiped. There were books and DVD's to borrow in the lounge area.
The terrace is a great place to sit and read/ have a drink or eat. It over looks the pool (great, if like us you have children), but is set back enough for privicy. theres a BBQ too.
The pool area is keep clean and tidy and has plenty of sunbeds. Two pools meant kids in one, grown- ups in the other!!
it is just outside the village, but still close enough to stroll into for dinner. I'd recommend a car to exploring the area and is helpful with shopping.
The next door village of Timi has a geat range of shops; great take-away, bakers and small supermarket with all the essentials.
The only down side (as with most rental properties now) is the A/C units are on timers, a pain in the middle of the night when it's 30 degrees outside. There we no mosquitos, so we had the windows open to keep cool .
I'm sure we'd go back here again as we all agree it was one of the best places we're ever stayed in.
