Portokalia Villa is a brilliant property as it’s in a "prime position" on the sought after "edge" of the St Christopher’s Village Development and is not overlooked at the very back by other villas – you just have wonderful views of the mountains at the rear and those stunning sunsets. An added bonus is the Dish Washer in our well-equipped kitchen!! It has its own private pool and is finished to an extremely high standard with tiled floors throughout and superior furnishings (and curtains - very unusual in Cyprus) - Portokalia Villa is a first class holiday home-from-home.
The villa is a modern 3-bedroom property with chic interiors sleeping 6 in it's 3-bedrooms. We can, however, accommodate young babies in our cot-beds as we supply these free-of-charge to guests as well as high-chairs and stair gates if required. So if you had 6 adults and 2 babies in cot-beds, a total of 8 guests, this would be fine.
One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor (a double) which has an en-suite shower room and plenty of wardrobe space/storage and black-out curtains. Two further bedrooms are upstairs. The master bedroom has a double bed with en-suite bathroom and a balcony that overlooks the garden and pool area and is a terrific place to relax watching the sun go down (or up!). The master bedroom has lots of storage space and wardrobes. The twin bedroom (also upstairs) faces the front of the property and has an en-suite shower room and again - plenty of wardrobe/storage space.
Our villa is very popular as it is tucked away at the very edge of the St Christopher's development so you don't have any villas at the rear to spoil your view of the mountains and olive groves. Here you can truly unwind and escape from the rat-race of everyday life back home and re-charge your batteries whilst sipping a glass of wine in the garden or up on the balcony watching those stunning sunsets.

There is a selection of Buckets, Spades, Balls, Floats, Flippers, Waddles and other toys to use in the pool or at the beach.
Sit and relax while you watch the sun setting behind the mountains every evening which is a truly incredible sight.

The Larnaca region
Larnaca enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with abundant sunshine year round. Long dry summers and mild winters are separated by short autumn and spring seasons. Summer is a time of high temperatures with cloudless skies, but the sea breeze creates a pleasant atmosphere in the coastal areas. Winters are mild, with some rain and snow on Troodos Mountains where you can hire skis and go skiing (see below).
Nestled on the shores of Larnaka Bay, you will find Larnaca town. Once one of the Mediterranean's main trade centres, the city owed much of its wealth during ancient times to the extensive salt-lakes which can be found a couple of miles from the city centre. Today, Larnaca can count itself amongst the most popular destinations in Cyprus, a fact which is reflected by the current expansion of the town's international airport, the forthcoming construction of the new Larnaca Golf and Country Club and even plans for a new marina during the next few years.
The Anafotida area
Cyprus is a wonderful island of contrasts. Where else could you ski in the morning and then be sunning yourself by the pool in the afternoon!!!!???
SKIING - Skiing is usually available in the winter months from the beginning of January to the end of March. There are 5 slopes and 4 lifts (Hera, Aphrodite, Hermes and Zeus) and runs vary in ability for beginners through to advanced and they even offer routes for cross country skiers. You can hire equipment at the Cyprus Ski Club “ski shop”. Get there early though, as, on a busy weekend, the best equipment goes very fast!
TROODOS MOUNTAINS - Located in the heart of Cyprus, the locals have christened the mountains a “Walker's Paradise” due to the vast array of fabulous trails. But there's no shortage of sporting activities for the energetic amongst you from skiing in the winter to paragliding, mountain bike riding, hiking, running and even rock climbing! There's also a multitude of sightseeing excursions in the Troodos Mountains. Take your pick from Byzantine Cypriot churches to the wine producing villages on the southern Troodos hills. Visit the Venetian Bridges near Tres Elias village or the village of Fini where you can buy some local handmade pottery. Or go and see the monks at the Kykkos Monastery.
ANAFOTIDA - the villa is only 200-300m from Anafotida, a traditional Cypriot village located in the Larnaca District of Cyprus, west of Larnaca. The village is mainly agricultural, with tomatoes being a dominant crop. The village centre is small, but there are 4 churches, 4 cafés (1 is a restaurant), a butcher, a small post office/shop, a bank (no ATM though), a barber shop, a small hairdresser's and a garage.
ANGLISIDES - is about 3km from Anafotida and has numerous cafés, 2 banks with ATMs, a lovely bakers and 2 small garden centres. It also has 2 supermarkets with good supplies to save you going in to Larnaca.
MAZOTOS - located about twelve miles south-west of Larnaca town and 5 mins from the villa, is a traditional Cypriot village, again, primarily of agricultural nature with an abundance of Olive groves to be found in the surrounding area. Whist the village proper is somewhat set back from the coast, a few restaurants and even the Camel Park - a very popular local tourist attraction (great for adults and kids alike), can be found closer to the seafront.
The beach at Mazotos is only 5-10 minutes away where you'll see many people walking along the scenic walkway, fishing or sunbathing. There is also a fantastic fish restaurant here, tucked away down a little lane off the main road, right on the beach called "ACROYIALLI". It has a play area for the children and also sells chicken and other non-fish dishes.
If you're looking for something a little livelier than Anafotida, Anglisides and Mazotos, then Larnaca, with its vibrant nightlife, is only a 15-20 minute drive away. Alternatively, you could go in to Limassol, which is slightly further along the coast in the opposite direction (approx 30 mins away). As with Larnaca, Limassol has a very varied and vibrant night-life being a popular tourist resort for many years.
Agia Napa, Protaras and Pernera are about a 40 minute drive along the A3 motorway from the villa. Here you'll find a multitude of attractions, beaches, bars, discos and restaurants. At Agia Napa you can also enjoy the fantastic Water Word Waterpark - the largest themed water park in Europe (it really is worth a trip - we have been there many times). In our 30-page information pack, we give you a wide selection of ideas for your holiday including tourist attractions, restaurants, bars, entertainment, beaches etc.

These villas really are wonderful places to escape from the rat-race of every day life. They are surrounded by beautiful countryside, olive groves, rolling hills, valleys and traditional Cypriot villages, away from the noisy, hustle and bustle of the busy tourist areas. Here you can truly relax, unwind and enjoy the marvellous views, scenic drives, long walks, bike rides, jogging, sunbathing and skiing on Mount Olympus in the Troodos mountains and admire the many archaeological sites that Cyprus' 10,000 year old history has to offer.

The nearest airport to the villa is Larnaca which will take approximately 15 minutes through wonderful traditional Cypriot villages along the coastline and scenic country roads. It really is a lovely start to your holiday as you meander up in to the villages through the beautiful countryside and mountains that surround the property.
You can also fly in to Paphos airport but that will take around an hour to an hour and a half drive to get to Anafotida.
LARNACA AIRPORT
Larnaca airport has undergone a major expansion and opened a brand new 3 story terminal building and extended the runway. The new modern airport has a more efficient baggage hall, passport control and much better shopping and dining facilities.

The only problem we encountered was the lack of Wi-Fi, which I understand is being addressed. We travelled with teenagers and a 6 year old, who all loved the pool and the Play Station! |

Portokalia Villa is rented on a weekly basis and prices are in £Sterling per week for the villa, regardless of the number of guests staying. Price includes:
- Clean, crisp bed linen on arrival day (and cot linen if required)

- Complimentary welcome basket (tea/coffee/water etc)
- Cleaning on departure day
