This 19th Century magnificent Villa, once the home of the Barons Monti Della Corte very close to the main square of Anacapri. The elegant white Villa is surrounded by a terraced garden with an acquamarine blue pool. This luxury Villa rental having been recently restored respecting the best of its antique features with all the modern facilities, all the en-suite rooms are different and tastefully furnished by expert hands of its current owner who is an antiquarian and an expert in nineteenth century painting and furnishings. A 16th-century Turkmen fireplace dominates the dining room along with an Indian wedding fountain commissioned by a 19th-century maharaja. Other grand touches: an eighteenth century marble fountain, Venetian glass mosaic tile and original nineteenth century majolica floors. There is a fabulous art collection which includes an over-sized Neapolitan sea battle scene by the 18th-century master painter Leonardo Coccorante and a study for Mathieu-Meusnier?s ?Death of Lais?, the final version of which can be seen in the Tuileries Gardens in Paris.Villa Il Barone is a private sanctuary, hidden behind closed gates and beyond extensive gardens. It?s a world apart from the lively town of Anacapri, which lies just outside the front gate. With the proximity of museums and galleries, there is no shortage of interesting activities. However, if you just want to sit by the pool and relax, surrounded by trees and flowers, then this too is a tempting option. The Campania region

Italy is a wonderful country that combines stunningly landscape with unique culture. From it's modern cities to its classic

countryside there is such a variety of wondrous things to see and do. Italy's unique culture stems from its history of being many individual states/provinces.

The countries shape means that the coast is easily accessible from practically anywhere in the country.

There are many fantastic things to do in the

local area. As well as all the normal tourist activities available there is a plethora of historical churches/monasteries that are well worth a visit. A trip here

would not be complete without sampling some of the delicious local food and, of course, the wine.
