Home description

This historic house was built in the 17th century. It is situated in one of the most charming parts of the canal belt near the suburb Jordaan, Ann Frank's house and Westerkerk. Many restaurants, shops and pubs around.

The house is split level. The entry at ground floor is in the kitchen; from the kitchen you enter bathroom + toilet; you go down a few steps for living room, bedroom 1 and patio (for your BBQs) and up a few steps for bedroom 2.
In the living room is a sofa bed for a 5th person.

The Northern Holland / North Holland region

Why not try something a little different this year and holiday in Holland? Part of the Low Countries, Holland is right at the heart of Europe and is full of culture.

Aside from Amsterdam and its cobbled streets and canals there is plenty of beautiful countryside waiting to be explored-tulip fields, windmills..... Hiring a bike is an ideal way of getting around, especially since the land is flat!

In the area around of Amsterdam some places to visit are Haarlem (Frans Hals museum), Edam, Alkmaar and the old Zuiderzee harbours Enkuizen and Hoorn.

For art lovers, the Hague's Gemeente museum (Mondriaan) and Panorama Mesdag are a must !

Amsterdam / Central Amsterdam area

The neighbourhood is absolutely charming and vivid. There is the canal belt, the shopping area of Haarlemmerdijk and Haarlemmerstraat with many special shops, and the suburb Jordaan that needs to be discovered.
The markets on Saturday and Monday are also worth a visit, for natural food, bric a brac, paintings and even birds.
At night there is the cinema at Haarlemmerstraat (a good one) and many brown pubs, some with artists performing.

Apart from everything one can do in Amsterdam we offer :

Plane : Schiphol airport is 15 kms from Amsterdam city centre. Take taxi or train no central station.
Train : central station is in the city centre.
Boat : ferry from Newcastle (UK) to IJmuden (25 kms from Amsterdam); from IJmuiden take ferry to city centre.
Boat : ferry from Hull (UK) to Rotterdam (70 kms fom Amsterdam); take train to Amsterdam central station.
