The apartment is totally restyled and refurnished in a stylish way with respect for the character and history of the house. Everything is new and clean. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, watercooker, toaster, pots and pans, etcetera. There is also a washer for your clothes in the apartment. The beds have new beds and new matrasses, new pillows and new linen. Also the towels are new. You will experience a great view from all windows as the building is on a corner. The bathroom has both a wide body tubb as a separate shower cabine. And you can enjoy the private roof terrace, an oasis in the middle of the city! Looking out of the windows you will see a great panorama on the city harbour with it's great architectural buidings aside old vessels and houseboats. The house has been the property of famous Dutch admiral Michiel de Ruyter, who was a real hero in Hollands' so called Golden Age. His leadership and knowledge of the seas made Holland a powerfull nation in the 17th century. The ships of the nation where docked right before the property of the famous admiral. Right where you might be staying in the apartment.

The Northern Holland / North Holland region
As Holland is not a big country it is very easy to travel to other cities. The railways are the most dens of the world. The country is flat and for 2/3 the land is below sealevel. This might confuse you while driving through the country site where you see boats sailing by on a higher lever then where you are. For flower lovers there is the Keukenhof.
Amsterdam area
Amsterdam as the capital of the Netherlands is the cultural centre of the country. It is the biggest city and it forms with other major cities a belt wich houses more then 4 million people. However, it is easy to get out of the city and enjoy nature.
In Amsterdam you can do many things; The apartment is on walking distance of: Rijksmuseum, van Goghmuseum, the Stedelijk Museum, the Maritiem Museum, Rembrandtsplein, Leidseplein, the Zoo, the Anne Frank House, cinema's, sports, biking, boating, restaurants, pubs, coffeeshops, shopping, Antique shops, theatres, clubs, Many music Halls like Paradiso, The Melkweg, The Concertgebouw, Carré, the Syadsschouwburg for Popconcerts, Classical music and Caberet. Amsterdam has so encredible much to offer, and it is all on walking distance of the apartment!
How to get there
To Amsterdam International Airport. From there by taxi, or by train. Both appr. 20 minutes. The Central Station is just a 9 minute walk from the apartment. The Ferrie from the UK arrives only half an hour by car from ten apartment in IJmuiden.
