Elegant ceiling-to-floor drapes enshrine this spacious apartment that incorporates a classy feel without impressing an aristocratic flavor. The apartment's location makes it easy to quickly get to the center of Amsterdam and yet since the apartment is on the edge of Vondel Park it also makes it ideal for park activities. Go there for a stroll or jog. The park is one of the city’s jewels and you can walk the entire length starting near the apartment and ending at the beginning of the famously busy Leidseplein. Going thru the park you will find people picnicking, strolling, roller blading, jogging, and generally just "hanging out". There are many restaurants in the area and just across the canal from the apartment is the chilled café/restaurant Oslo which is popular with locals, especially at weekends. Other star restaurants within a five minute walk and located in the posh South district are the Dragon-i and the famous Ron Blauuw. There is a tram system that is located just outside the apartment that can take you to the heart of Amsterdam with in minutes. This tram system is also very convenient for getting to many points of interest including Leidseplein, the museum area, Dam square, central station and Lelylaan station, which connects in 8 minutes to Schiphol airport.

Provided with a multimedia system, Wi-Fi, microwave/oven, 5 burner gas stove, washer, and a fully equipped modern kitchen gives you the option of dining in. Placed at the back of the apartment is the very comfortable, private and quite bedroom furnished with a double bed. The large bright and airy living room has a wooden floor partially covered with a thick rug and a sofa. From here you can look out the living room's large windows and easily see down to the canal and watch the barges go by. The bath has a traditional bath tub which also has an almost waterfall- like shower head. The dining room makes for a friendly atmosphere in which to "hang".

North Holland is a province situated on the North Sea in the northwest part of the Netherlands.
It is a broad peninsula for the most part, located between the North Sea, Markermeer and the IJsselmeer. More than half of the province consists of reclaimed polder land situated below sea level.
North Holland has five municipalities with 100,000 or more inhabitants. They are, in order of size, Amsterdam (in terms of population this is also the largest municipality in the Netherlands), Haarlem, Zaanstad, and Haarlemmermeer. Another seven municipalities have a population between 50,000 and 100,000 inhabitants (i.e. Hilversum, Amstelveen, Purmerend, Hoorn, Velsen, Alkmaar with the famous cheese market on Friday, and Heerhugowaard.) The island of Texel is also part of North Holland.
The Amsterdam / Vondel Park Old South area
What makes Amsterdam so attractive is the 17th century historical atmosphere combined with the mentality of a modern metropolis creating a friendly and relaxed environment. The small scale of the buildings and the intimacy of the streets, canals and squares create an atmosphere that visitors find unique.
The city has the highest museum density in the world and is home to cultural highlights, such as the Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank House, Hermitage Amsterdam and the Rijksmuseum with Rembrandt’s world-famous Nightwatch. Other well known places of interest in Amsterdam are the Palace on the Dam, the Artis Zoo, Jewish Historical Museum and the Rembrandt House.
Take a canal tour of Amsterdam and discover the historical canal district which was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2011. The best way to get around Amsterdam is on a bike. You won’t become any more local than by cycling around Amsterdam. Bikes can be rented not far from the apartment.

Fly to Amsterdam Schiphol or take a train to Amsterdam Central Station.
From there take tram 1 and get off at Overtoomsesluis
It's 2 minutes walk from the stop, just 1 minute walk from the South entrance of the famous Vondel Park.
If you come by car you can park to one of the cheap Park and Ride facilities (8 eur per day and you get included a ticket for public transport). The nearest one is Olympic Stadion.

Great flat for a couple. Very well decorated and equipped. Great area in a quieter part of town. Take a right out of the flat and you are on a tram which is about 9 mins to the heart of Amsterdam. Take a left and the Vondelpark is right there which is a lovely 25-30min walk to the city centre (to the museum district). If you go past the park there is also a number of shops and restaurants which are not so touristy. The bar at the tram stop and the bar across the canal (on the corner) are also very good. Flat owner is very friendly and gave us a map with advice on where to go. We were slightly past check in time but this was no problem.
