Maesquarre Hall is located in the peaceful setting on the Betws Mountain, approx 5 minutes drive from the town of Ammanford with all its local amenities. Furnished to a high standard, this spacious house will provide you with a fantastic holiday experience with amazing views of the grounds and lake from most rooms in the house.
The house has plenty of space to accommodate 8 people or 2 families at ease, with 2 large reception rooms and a large Victorian conservatory just off of the kitchen. It has 4 large double bedrooms, all comfortably refurbished for your comfort. With 5 acres of private woods, rolling lawns and a lake to enjoy, this really is a journey back to nature for you and your family.

There are 3 reception areas,including the conservatory, for your relaxation.
The large heated conservatory with stunning views down to the lake are Ideal for breakfasts/lunch/evening dining.
.The 4 large double bedrooms offer space and comfort for your stay.
.Set within 5 acres of private grounds with a private lake for exploring - (not suitable for fishing) but with a boat for rowing!
Travel Cot stored at the property.

. 5 acres of beautifully maintained rolling countryside.
There is a cottage on the grounds at the side of the house where the Housekeeper resides, who will issue you with keys to the house and remote control for the gates. They are also on site if you have any problems or questions though out your stay,and can also provide information with regard to the huge history of the house and the surrounding areas.
There are 2 sheep kept in a paddock within the grounds, which provides great entertainment to some of our younger guests! Additionally there is a travel cot available for use.

The Gower Peninsula -
Britains first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Gower has over 34 miles of coastline and some of Wales cleanest and most spectacular beaches.At Rhossili Bay, (named by The Sunday Times as one of the top 25 beaches in the world!) you can enjoy unrivalled views of the famous Worms Head. Three Cliffs Bay and many other local beaches have European Blue Flags and Green Coast awards demonstrating both clean water and high quality facilities.
Gower can offer a host of activities including horseriding,golf,surfing and other watersports, suitable for all ages and abilities. It is also a haven for walkers, offering short family walks taking in many of the historic churches and landmarks in the area, to routes for the more experienced walker which explore the most breathtaking views of the peninsula.
The Mumbles -
Mumbles is located at the end of the five - mile sweep of Swansea Bay,is a Victorian seaside resort full of character. this picturesque village is home to some of the finest restaurants in Swansea, serving the best in Welsh local produce, including freshly caught fish and other seafood delicacies . Mumbles also boasts some of the finest ice cream parlours in the region (one serving a secret recipe since 1922).The Victorian pier is well worth a visit for a breath of fresh air or visit the cafe and amusement arcade. The Swansea Bay Rider runs from St Helens to Mumbles and echoes the route of the first passenger railway in the UK.
The Maritime Quarter -
Swansea award winning maritime Quarter is a step away from the city centre and is ideal for a leisurely stroll around the colourful marina. There are plenty of places to visit including the National waterfroont Museum and Swansea Museum built in 1841.

* Carra Cennen Castle - historical castles one of many in the area.
* Oxwich Castle - remains of Tudor fortified manor house built by the Mansel Family during the sixteenth century.
* Gwili Steam Railway - Day out with Thomas the Tank Engine in March and Sept ! Ivor the Engine in Whitsun!
* Folly Farm - Adventure Park Zoo in Pembrokeshire
* Swansea Marina - Maritime Museum - restaurant and bars.
* Laughaurne - the place of Dylan Thomas' home, which was his inspiration for much of his amazing poetry.
* Blackpill - with a wildlife centre, Lido with outdoor children's paddling pool with stunning sea views, with interactive water features and play area.
* Glynhir Golf Club - 18 hole course - 5 miles from the house.
* Clyne Farm Activity Centre - a wide range of activities inc. canoeing,surfing,horse riding,assault courseclimbing wall,cycle hire.
* The Chocolate Factory - Fforestfach - brilliant tour round a actual working chocolate factory brilliant for kids and chocoholics - with lots of freebies thrown In, great if it's raining!
* The famous 'Heart of Wales Line' - a famous train ride that takes you through the scenic Sugar Loaf Mountains, from Ammanford station.
* Cycling
There are some fantastic cycling opportunities in and around Swansea Bay. As part of the Celtic Trail and the Nstional Cycle Network, the area provides a wonderful range of traffic - free cycle routes suitable for families.

The Ammanford / Betws area
The house is situated on Betws Mountain, which is an ideal haven for keen walkers and hikers who can explore the most breathtaking of views the surrounding famous Black Mountains.
On the mountain just up from the house is a great pub calles The Scotch Pine serving great pub food.
The local town of Ammanford has ample shops and restaurants for takeaways and general supplies whilst you stay at the house. There is a large Tesco in the town who will deliver a shop ready for when you arrive.
The house is on the incline of the mountain, so is far away enough for peace and tranquillity but not too isolated so you cannot access local amenities easily.
You really feel like king of the Manor within your own 5 acres of grounds!

Our house is located 10 minutes' drive from the town of Ammanford.
The nearest motorway exit is Junction 42 off of the M4.
The house is literally half an hour from the exit. Follow the sign posts through to the town of Ammanford and up onto Maesquarre Rd on Betws Mountain.
The nearest Airport is Cardiff.
The nearest Ferry is Swansea.
