About the home

Rates are per room with maximum occupancy of 2 pax per room.
For breakfast add $5 per person per day (Saturday to Thursday only).
Airport pick-up or drop off is US$15 per vehicle (maximum 4 passengers)

We have a 3 bedroom 4 bathroom apartment on the second floor and, on the third floor we have two independent bedrooms and a spacious roof terrace. Guests can choose to rent the entire apartment or any of the five bedrooms individually. Fresh linen is provided upon arrival.

Included in the price we offer some surprising wine upon your arrival.

A little information about us - We are Italians adopted by Jordan. My grandfather arrived in what is today Jordan in 1921 to build the Italian hospital which is still in operation today. Till the 50s the Italian hospital was the only facility of its kind east of the river Jordan till Baghdad. Most Jordanians born in a hospital before 1970 were born at the Italian hospital.
Our home is located in one of the older parts of Amman; Jabel Webdeh. In the 50s Jabel Webdeh was the new elite area of town which was then gradually abandoned in the 80s and 90s for newer posher areas.

Jabel Webdeh is currently undergoing a revival. Our building is adjacent to the Italian Embassy and is located 200m from the French Cultural Center and is within walking distance of the two most prominent art galleries in Amman: The Modern Art Gallery and Darat El Funun. Within walking distance are also a handful of cafes, some antiques stores and relatively well stocked convenience stores. Down town is 15min walk away (Husseini Mosque, Hashem Restaurant, Auberge Restaurant, Duke's Diwan, Central Post Office) and the Rainbow Street area is 25min away but there is a steep hill to get there on foot. The Abdali Friday market is a 20min walk away too.

The guest rooms and the apartment are on the upper floors of our home. We live downstairs at garden level. If you choose to have breakfast, it will be served downstairs in our home. We have cats and dogs indoors and outdoors. Pets don't often get to the upper floors but if you are having breakfast in our home, they will be around.

If you intend to only visit the main sites in Jordan, you will find numerous good tour operators that can arrange visits for you. On the other hand, if you wish to do something different and/or more active we can arrange the following activities:


ACTIVITIES / RUNNING / MARATHONS / PARAGLIDING.

For a longer getaway, we can arrange for you to spend a night at the Zumot vineyard where you will sample some surprising wines and enjoy a traditional bbq meal. In spring, summer and autumn you can also enjoy a swimming pool of warm natural water while taking in the sunset over the vines. Zumot wines have won several gold, silver and bronze medals in prestigious wine blind tastings in Tokyo, Berlin and Paris.

If you enjoy running, you can join me on Friday morning and one or two other times during the week for short 8 to 12 Km runs around town. For Trail Running enthusiasts, there are three unmissable events yearly. There is the Full Moon Desert Marathon in May, the Mad Dog Desert Marathon in August and The Pilgrimage in December and we can guarantee entry in all of them.

We regularly camp out in the desert of Wadi Araba and/or Wadi Rum. Other than your clothing, you need nothing else as we provide bedding, food, drink and transport.

4X4 TRIPS - If you like getting down and dirty with cars, winches, hauling cars up steep rocky inclines or fording rivers, we regularly go out to test the capabilities of our vehicles in inhospitable terrain.

- Paragliding - we have three canopies and, by the end of March 2012 we will also have three motors that can be rented by certified experienced paragliders.

One room is wheel chair accessible. This room is located downstairs in our home where breakfast is served.

The Amman Region region

Jordan enjoys four full and well distinct seasons. Located at an average hight of 800m above sea level, Amman can enjoy the occasional snow fall between December and February. The city is well ventilated so the climate is generally fairly dry.

The Amman City / Jabel Webdeh area

French Cultural Center, Gallery of modern art, Darat el Funun gallery, Khaled Shoman Foundation, Canvas cafe & restaurant are all within walking distance. Down town (Husseini Mosque, Central Post Office, Hashem Restaurant, Auberge Restaurant) are 15min walk away down the hiill. The Citadel is 15min away by taxi.

Day trips from JD50 per person if you have your own vehicle such as a rental for example - price includes full bar and snacks. JD75 per person if you wish to ride in one of our vehicles and full bar and snacks are included of course.
