The Languedoc-Roussillon / Pyrenees-Orientales region

Situated along the Mediterranean sea shores, between the Rhône delta and Spain. Languedoc Roussillon is now a destination that attract many tourists. The region has some of the finest beaches in France and beautiful mountain valleys. The countryside is gorgeous and less overcrowded than in Provence.

The region has many historic places of interest, strong traditional culture and authentic food, a vibrant city as Montpellier and a lot of sun to offer! Languedoc Roussillon is a very good alternative to the French riviera, Provence and Périgord altogether !

The Amelie-les-bains / Le Tech area

Le Tech is a small pretty hillside village in the vallespir. It sits on 2 rivers and is a Catalan stroghold! Very friendly, with an original cafe/bar, a local charcuterie and shop, a post office, a B&B, brocante and mairie with library and internet cafe.

Each day there is a delivery of fresh bread and cakes to the village and throughout the year there are fetes with a meal and music in the centre of the village. At the river you can paddle, fish or have a BBQ. Five minutes away is a fabulous swimming hole, with waterfalls and cascades.
