Home description

The villa is situated in a top hill position with a beautiful panorama only few kms from Amelia. It forms an ideal starting point for enjoying the peace of the surrounding hill and mountain landscape and on the other hand making at least 40 trips by car to sparkling towns like Todi, Orvieto, Narni, Spoleto, Viterbo (15 to 40 min.) or Perugia, Gubbio, Spello, Assisi, Tuscania and Tarquinia on the coast with a magnificent little museum of Etruscan art and Etruscan tombs with 2,300-year-old frescos (60-75 min.) or somewhat farther north the Etruscan ruins at Volci. You can also easily visit places in the southern part of Tuscany by car such as Siena, San Geminiano, Pienza, Cortona, Senalunga, etc. Many tourists visit Rome once or more times from Amelia, by car or by train from the stations Narni-Amelia or Orte. Then in the more immediate surroundings there are numerous charming little villages - of medieval origin - which are increasingly being renovated for weekend and summer tourism: San Restituta, Civita di Bagnoreggio, Lugnano, Stroncone, Labro (max. 40 min), Montefranco, Arrone, etc. Hard by also lie the vast ruins of the Roman city of Carsulae.

Palomba is especially suitable for 2/3 families who want to go on holiday together or for little groups until 15 person. The position of the villa gives a lot of privacy to the guests. The villa has a small unit on the ground floor (2+1 s.p. - also suitable for disabled persons) and a large unit on the first floor (8+4 sleeping places). The guests rent always the whole property so there will not be other persons in the villa or that use the garden/swimming pool during the stay. The villa has a private garden and a large swimming pool (7x16). It is possible to eat outside under the equipped porch, for cooking also available a barbecue and a stone oven.
Restaurants 500 meters far away, grocery 1 km, town of Amelia 2 kms. It's possible to buy olive oil of excellent quality on the spot.

The Umbria region

In Umbria, a region that has gained a name for being the green heart of Italy, tourism is growing because of the unfamiliar harmony between nature, antiquities, historic centres (the landscape is dotted with many picturesque medieval villages) and culture. In the region immigrants from other countries of the European Union are also settling or buying second homes. The quiet of the countryside, good provisions and an inimitable cuisine are the great draw. Rents for houses are lower in comparison with Tuscany. Main cities to visit: Perugia, Orvieto, Spoleto, Assisi, Todi, Gubbio but there are also many charming little towns and villages.

From southern Umbria, in day trips, it also possible to visit Rome (we advice to go by train) and other charming little towns of northern Lazio (Tuscania, Tarquinia, Bagnaia, Civita di Bagnoreggio and the lakes of Bolsena, Bracciano and Vico) or southern Tuscany (Siena, Montepulciano, Cortona, ….).

Amelia area

Amelia is gorgeously sited on the rocks. The walls originate from the pre-Etruscan period (700 BC). It forms an ideal starting point for enjoying the peace of the surrounding hill and mountain landscape and on the other hand making at least 40 trips by car to sparkling towns like Todi, Orvieto, Narni, Spoleto, Viterbo (15 to 40 min.) or Perugia, Gubbio, Spello, Assisi, Tuscania and Tarquinia. In the more immediate surroundings there are numerous charming little villages - of medieval origin - which are increasingly being renovated for weekend and summer tourism. Al the shops you need are available in Amelia.
