The Tuscany region

Tuscany harbours the classic landscapes of Italy, familiar from a thousand renaissance paintings, with their backdrop of medieval hill-towns, rows of cypress tress and artfully sited villas and farmhouses. It’s a stereotype that has long held an irresistible attraction for Northern Europeans.

Shelley referred to Tuscany as a “paradise of exiles”, and ever since his time the English, in particular, have seen the region as an ideal refuge from a sun-starved and overcrowded homeland. This Etruscan delight is one of the most beautiful places in the world to live or vacation.

Vepri is set in a classic Tuscan rolling landscapes with breathtaking views of vineyards and olive groves.

Vepri is located next to the Village of Ambra and in between the beautiful cities of Arezzo and Sienna.

The quaint village of Ambra lies in close proximity to Borgo il Vepri. Ambra offers all one could need, from banks and bakers to bar and restaurant. Close-by, lies one of Tuscany’s best equestrian centres and polo clubs.

Vepri itself lies on the Strada Del Vino (Wine Route) which spans through Ambra and into the classic Chianti region, ideal for wine connoisseurs

Arezzo is one of Tuscany’s most prosperous cities and famous for being the setting of Benini’s wonderful film ‘Life is Beautiful’. It is also famous for its antiques markets, its frescoes painted by Piero della Francesca. Here one can find wonderful architecture, shopping, bars and restaurants, a mere 20 minutes from Vepri.

This ancient city is brimming with attractions from one of the most beautiful gothic churches in the world and its works by Michelangelo, Bernini and Donatello to the lively Piazza del Campo, one of Italy’s most famous squares and setting of the infamous Palio horse race.

Siena is only a 20 minute drive from Vepri.

The capital of Tuscany is an easy drive from Vepri lying on the banks of the romantic river Arno. Throughout the centuries Florence has been seat to some of the world’s most influential artists and intellectuals including Dante and Leonardo da Vinci. Today, Florence is a thriving centre of art, tourism and city delights.

Tuscany is an area of great contrast offering high mountain ranges to low-lying marsh land. The natural park of the Maremma boasts one of Italy’s largest stretches of virgin coastline, there is the emblematic Arno river and more characteristically, thousands of acres of gently rolling hills, criss-crossed with immaculate white roads and home to crops, vineyards and olive groves. The stunning island of Elba lies just off the south coast.

Vepri is ideally situated for exploring the wonderful Medieval Tuscan hill-top towns such as San Gimignano or Cortona, all within easy driving distance.

Tuscany is popular with Italians during the winter who love to bathe in the therapeutic spas and resorts in the area. Vepri is nearby to many spas, ideal for a relaxing day trip.

The northern Tuscan coast, has the regions best beaches and some of the most popular resort-such as Forte dei Marmi. Further south, the coastline is more rugged with upmarket resorts.

Vepri is within an hours drive of stunning Lake Trasimeno with its host of water-sports and activities.

Skiing is also available in Northern Tuscany as well as the Alps and Dolomites for those who wish to explore further.

"Lovely accomodation, clean, modern and well looked after with a large pool"

Had a lovely time at Vepri. Really enjoyed the lovely large pool. The accommodation was modern, spacious and very well looked after. Vepri is a small complex of apartments and houses/villas, which we found still peaceful.

Vepri is approx 30-40 mins from Arezzo and around the same amount of time to Sienna. Sienna is lovely and certainly worth a visit. It is easy to catch the train from Bucini into Florence - taking just over an hour on the train (you can buy trains at the local station or at the newsagents at the top of the hill near the station).

We had a lovely time at Vepri, I wish we could of stayed longer as I would of also liked to visit Perugia and Lake Trasimeno but we just ran out of time. I didn't have enough time to enjoy the pool and sunshine for longer either!

This is a great place for a peaceful holiday and for exploring the area.

Thankyou Derek and Selma.

Thank you very much for your great feedback. We are very glad you had a great time in Vepri and enjoyed your holiday!

"Perfect location to explore Tuscany"

A comfortable, well equipped apartment with stunning views of the countryside. Never got too hot at night despite daytime temps of up to 36. The pool was an ideal way to prepare or relax after long trips to Florence,Pisa. etc We made the long drive to Rome but it was ok. The roads are quite good and if you come from London anywhere is better! We loved the wifi as the TV despite being a neat Samsung only had Italian channels. Overall highly recomended. Finally a big thank you to Selma. Sadly we had to cancel last years planned booking but are so pleased that we made it this year and Selmas kind help made it all very easy for us.

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback. This is much appreciated. We are very glad you had a great holiday!! :-)

"Relaxing stay with beautiful scenery"

My husband, 15 year old daughter and myself have not long returned from Tuscany and would like to say how beautiful the surrounding anea is. We stayed at Vepri which is a lovely contemporary apartment located just up a side road which gives easy access to a main road. It is well looked after and has wonderful views from the bedroom windows and you can also see the swimming pool (only about 6 sunbeds but some grass area available). Not suitable for people with a disability due to the steps down to the pool. Selma was very good in responding to any requests etc. The location was good access for Sienna or Arezzo both well worth a visit.
If you wish to eat out there isn't anything within walking distance, however we ate out a couple of times at a restaurant called 'Latina's' which is located behind a campsite located a couple of miles down the road. Fantastic food and big portions - booking is advisable.
We would definitely come back here again.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Much appreciated!! We are glad you enjoyed your holiday! :-)

Lovely peaceful location, nice pool, refurbished interior is bright and airy and although there was no air conditioning, even with temperatures pushing 40C, this was never a problem. Suspect this property is ideally located for the 'Chianti Trail' but we were not there for that, it was not perfect for the mix of culture and retail therapy we were there for, and in that respect it felt like a lot of the time was spent in our hire car especially when returning to Vepri before eating out on an evening; however, this is not a reflection on the property itself, just the nature of our visit. Both Florence and Sienna averaged around a 60 minute drive.

Dear Craig.

Thank you so much for your review and your time to write it. :)
We appreciate that very much!!

All the best!
