Church Cottage is fantastically situated in the heart of the tranquil countryside near Hawkshead famed for inspiring Beatrix Potter. This classic whitewashed Lakeland cottage is in an enviable position with the bonus of a good sized orchard garden, just perfect for relaxing or enjoying drinks al fresco. Step inside, and you'll find true Lakeland character at every turn. Roses surround the door, old oak beams grace the ceilings, pretty latch doors and deep-silled cottage windows conjure up an air of history, and a cosy open fire completes the mood. Glorious countryside walks begin in your orchard garden, alongside a babbling stream. And when you return, you'll find the Sawrey Arms a welcome treat. For an unforgettable romantic break or even a honeymoon in the Lake District, this delightful property is a dream come true.

Accommodation in detail
Shared entrance porch with traditional slate slabs to help you heave off muddy boots. Enter to a private entrance hall, graced with old oak panelling and exposed beams. The cosy lounge, with table for two and open fire, overlooks the village church through two pretty cottage windows. Look out for the ancient 'spice cupboard' dated 1708! The neat little kitchen is well-equipped. Upstairs, the charming double bedroom has a pretty window seat. Fresh house bathroom with shower attachment over bath.
Outside, the orchard garden has wonderful countryside views from a furnished patio.

Location
A holiday cottage in Far Sawrey takes you away from the hustle and bustle of Lake Windermere's eastern shores. Situated to the west of the Lake, this sleepy hamlet of traditional Lakeland cottages lies between the car-ferry crossing to Bowness and the famous village of Hawkshead. Glorious Lake District walks surround you, with excellent Lake District country pubs en-route and no need to even use your car.
The picture postcard village of Hawkshead is only a couple of miles away, just past Esthwaite Water. Only slightly further afield you'll find useful shops, cafes and excellent restaurants in Ambleside, where Windermere Lake Cruises also depart to ferry you the full length of the lake. Close by to the west is Coniston Water, where more boating activity awaits along with the opportunity to visit the Brantwood historic house - you'll never forget the wonderful views across Coniston Water from Brantwood's Jumping Jenny Coffee House and Restaurant.
At the heart of the Lakes, away from the crowds but with easy access to our most popular villages, Far Sawrey is a true Lakeland gem.
