Aptly named, this little cottage overlooks Esthwaite Water and is fit for Renee Zellweger herself! Step inside this small but perfectly formed retreat and see how effortlessly old world character and charm blend with the 21st century - this is a place to spend precious time together, relax and soak up the peaceful, magical surroundings.

The Cumbria/Lake District

Little Ees Wyke is a detached residence built in the walled garden of one of Beatrix Potters' former holiday homes. It is beautifully located with breathtaking views over Esthwaite Water, Grizdale Forest and the South Lakeland Mountains.

Set in a picturesque tranquil location it is an ideal location for walking, cycling or exploring the beautiful Southern Lakes. Positioned on the edge of the delightful hamlet of Near Sawrey it offers easy access to Hilltop, the Lakeland home of Beatrix Potter

Ambleside

Near Sawrey is at the heart of the Lake District and is a perfect base for Windermere, Ambleside, the Langdales and Coniston. Hawkshead is only a couple of miles away and offers cafes, pubs and restaurants serving snacks and bar meals. Recommended is the Kings Arms.

However, in Near Sawrey there is a very good inn, The Tower Bank Arms, famous from its inclusion in, The Tale of Jemima Puddleduck. And Sawrey House both serve great food although at busy periods it would be worth while reserving a table. The Sawrey Hotel in the next village is open to non- residents and serves a 3/5 course evening meal - booking is essential.

"A cosy cottage in a beautiful setting."

My wife and I recently spent a very pleasant week at Little Esthwaite Cottage. We received a warm welcome from Vernon and he and Penny were charming hosts throughout. The cottage was clean, well presented and everything worked. There was a lovely views to Esthwaite Water and the cottage was snug with the wood burner cheerily crackling away! We found the cottage a bit small, but that was partly our fault for bringing too much stuff . Also, if the weather had been better (i.e. summertime, not autumn) we could have made more use of the excellent decking and garden, which would have given a greater sense of space. Overall though, we had a lovely week.
