Shepherd's Cottage is a single storey barn conversion, set on a working farm just outside the village of Hawkshead. In an elevated position set back from the road, the cottage is surrounded by rolling fields leading down to the lake with fabulous, uninterrupted views of Esthwaite Water. This is a firm favorite with fishermen as the lake shore is only a short walk away and guests have fishing rights on Esthwaite. Footpaths from the door lead along a woodland path through quiet countryside to nearby Hawkshead with specialist shops and a good selection of places to eat and drink.

Shepherd's Cottage is furnished to a very high standard with coordinating fabrics and delightful personal touches. The owners also offer the option of meals prepared in the farmhouse and served in the comfort of the cottage if you fancy treating yourself !

Entry is

via a traditional porch with plenty of hanging space for coats and other outdoor gear. There is a large open plan living space with kitchen/diner and lounge area with a door leading to the patio. This room has comfortable leather settees, wallmounted flatscreen TV, DVD player, Ipod dock and and an electric effect woodburning stove. The well equipped kitchen has electric oven and hob, fridge with small freezer box, microwave and dishwasher. There is a dining table and chairs (although the cottage does not have a washing machine or tumble drier, the owners are happy for you to use their facilities next door)).

There are 2 pretty bedrooms - a twin bedroom (zip and link to double on request) and a double bedroom both with views over adjacent farmland and Esthwaite Water. There is a shower room with double shower cubicle, handbasin, w.c and heated towel rail.

Outside there is a garden to the front accessed from the dining area with furniture, patio heater and BBQ with stunning views down the valley a private patio to the rear with the luxury of a 4 person hot tub..a perfect way to relax!
