Home description

The apartment is situated on the 1st floor , in the front of a large specially built house, split into 4 independent apartments . Each apartment has its own entrance to the property. The apartment is fully equipped with all kitchen electrical appliances. It has independent central heating and a fire place for the cooler months.

It consists of a large bedroom , with a double bed, and fitted wardrobes. In the living room there are two sofa beds one double and one single. Also in the kitchen area there is a dining table for family dining. All these areas are fully air-conditioned.

The apartment is serviced, a cleaner calls once a week to clean the floors, worktops and change the linen. This is included in the price.

The Mainland Greece region

Thessaly is the central part of mainland Greece. It combines beautiful mountains that drop into the sea with beautiful unspoiled beaches. Pelion mountain the place of the mythical centaurs (half horse, half humans) is only 60 km away and a must to visit. The area is busting with archaeological sites prehistoric and current. Volos is the place where the Jason and the Argonauts started their expedition. Achilles the Homeric hero of Troy started the expedition from this area.

The climate is very nice with all the seasons present. The summers are hot but the village enjoys the sea breeze that keeps it cool.

Amaliapolis area

Amaliapolis (Mitzela) is a picturesque seaside village situated on a large bay in the Pagasitic Gulf on the east coast of Greece, 53km south of the lively university city of Volos. It is roughly midway between Athens and Thessaloniki and so well situated for exploring mainland Greece, including the monasteries of Meteora, classical Delphi and other archaeological sites in Magnesia and beyond. Motorway connections to Athens (approx 3 hrs) and Thessalonika (approx 2.5 hrs) are easily reachable, only 20 km away. The village is surrounded by olive groves and framed by hills. Across the Gulf lies the Pelion Peninsula with skiing in winter and beautiful beaches, mountain villages and spectacular scenery.

In the village square there are tavernas and cafes where one can enjoy fresh fish foods and an enjoyable afternoon or evening by the seafront. The ideal place for a relaxing holiday , somewhere to completely unwind.

How to get there

Even though there is an airport about 20km away it is only operational from 15th May to 15th Oct. Various airlines fly there such as Monarch from London Gatwick, Air Berlin from Germany. The name of the airport is Volos (Vol)
However the cheapest flights are to Thessaloniki or Athens and since you are going to need a car check all major airlines such as Easyjet, British Airways, Aegean airlines. In the summer there are many charter flights to both cities from many places in Europe.

There is a large east-facing balcony which is covered with an extendible awning, where you can enjoy breakfast al fresco, or a dinner under the stars.

There is a common newly planted garden which is growing into a beautiful feature of the house.
