Home description

A 3 bedroom villa (2 rooms with double beds and 1 with a bunk bed) with gorgeous sea views (from all three bedrooms) in a quiet residential location at the heart of the famous Amalfi coast.
There is a large kitchen and dining area which seats eight. A comfortable large bathroom with shower .
The nearest beach is Santa Croce about 15 minutes ' walk ' away (down a number of stairs). The beach has a bar and fish restaurant 'da Teresa' and sunbeds and umbrellas are available for hire. (www.dateresa.it)
The house boasts high domed ceilings ,a architectural tradition of the area, which makes it cool and airy in the summer. Also typical of the area is that residential 'streets' are actually stairs and the house is 140 steps up from street level. (Don't worry, our 4 and 6 year old children manage them with ease several times a day!) You are rewarded with spectacular sea views throughout the house.
Just a ten minutes stroll (turn right at the bottom of the stairs) along the coastal road you'll find 'Da Ciccio' a great restaurant overlooking the sea. Alternatively across the road from 'Da Ciccio's' there's a pizzeria and a bar. The bar is open from breakfast time until late in the evening.
An opportunity to experience life as lived by the locals in a very private, comfortable property and close to all amenities.

The Campania region

The region has a mild Mediterranean climate with long ,hot summers with average highs of 30-35 degrees celsius in summer and moderate winters with an average temperature of 10 degrees.

Amalfi area

Amalfi is just one of the unique towns along the Amalfi Drive,a 50km stretch of road from Salerno to Sorrento which bends and winds along cliffs that drop into crystal clear waters connecting the beautiful towns of Positano, Amalfi and the hillside village of Ravello.
Amalfi's main square is dominated by the Duomo Sant' Andrea ,an imposing cathedral dating from the 10th century and well worth a visit. There is also the Museo Civico and a paper museum.
Ideal for walkers, in the hills above Amalfi are dozens of small paths and stairways connecting the towns with mountainside villages.
The harbour has daily ferries to the islands of Capri ,Ischia and boats to any other of the towns along the coast., Positano,Sorrento and Salerno, infact it is one of the easiest and most pleasant ways to get around! Alternatively there are frequent buses to all the local towns and attractions.
Don't miss the the nearby hill town of Ravello.

How to get there

- Fly to Naples Capodichino - Cheap flights available from easyjet.
- A hire car is not necessary on the Amalfi Coast.
- We recommend taking a taxi from the airport to the house and can arrange transport via a local taxi company for approx euro120 one way.
- By public transport- from Naples airport take a bus or taxi to the railway station at Piazza Garibaldi. (travel time approx 30 min by taxi approx euro30.)
At the station on a lower level you can take a Circumvesuviana local train to Sorrento (60 min travel time, euro6 )
In Sorrento close to the station is the bus stop 'SITA'. Take the bus to Amalfi via Positano.
The villa is situated about 10 mins before Amalfi.Ask the driver to drop you at Vettica Minore near to Santa Croce beach. Our representative will meet you here.

- By car : from Amalfi follow the SS163 towards Positano/Sorrento. 100 metres after the sign for 'Vettica' on your right you will see a SITA bus sign in the wall. You can park here where you will be met by our representative.

Free Car Parking is available on the streets above and below the house. The house is located in a quiet residential area so spaces are always available.

Conditions

Not suitable for children in prams or pushchairs or disabled people in wheelchairs due to the several stairs which need to be climbed in order to access the property.

The owner's weekend rates apply to: Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights

NB: Prices may be subject to change at the owner's discretion.

Payment can be made in Sterling or Euros directly into UK or Italian bank accounts. Details will be given when the booking is accepted.

A returnable deposit of £200/Euro350 to be paid against damage. This will be returned within 7 days of leaving the property if no damage.

A compulsory cleaning charge of 60 euros to be paid locally.

50% non refundable deposit of whole cost to be paid within one week of booking and remainder 6 weeks before departure.

-The balcony and views were even better then expected. We were soon used to the steps and have calf muscles to die for! (MZ 2008)
