The Campania region
Campania, meaning fortunate countryside, is part of the Italian Peninsular in the Southern Region of Italy. With beautiful beaches and countryside it is fast attracted more and more tourists. It is well renowned for producing famous dishes of pizza and pasta . Throughout the whole of Italy it is regarded as producing some of the best Mozzerella and Ricotta cheese. It is an area also famous for a spicy dish called Calitrian cuisine.
Aside from their food Campania is a historical haven that has grown throughout the centuries. Housing the famous cities of Naples, Amalfi and Positano. A particular ancesteral place of interest would be the city of Calitri. This has an abundance of castles andaristocratic palazzos surrounded by hills and valleys. It is also home for the trail that Hannibal and his legions walked along centuries ago.
The area is well renowned for producing excellant football teams and excelling in water polo. Volleyball, and more recently basketball and tennis.
Amalfi area
Amalfi is home to the Amalfi coast which is known as one of the most exclusive and stunning areas in the world. As well as the beaches and beautiful surroundings it is rich with culture and history. Interestingly the town centre is shaped like an upside down fan that sparks interest amongst many visitors.
Aside from the beaches it is also famous for producing Limoncella liquor and gorgeous home made paper which is famous throughout Italy to be used as writing paper, Wedding invitations and cards.
