The Campania region
The region has a mild Mediterranean climate with long ,hot summers with average highs of 30-35 degrees celsius in summer and moderate winters with an average temperature of 10 degrees.
Atrani is a medieval village close to Amalfi which is a 4 minutes stroll along the corniche overlooking the sea. In times gone by Atrani was the residence of the aristocratic families of Amalfi and home of the Republic of Amalfi's nobility. The secret of this little town lies in its characteristic Piazza Umberto I, rendez-vous for people of different cultures that have chosen the Amalfi Coast for a relaxing and pleasant holiday.
The stone-paved paths between Atrani's houses ascend from the "Piazza" towards Monte Aureo and Monte Civita where the village was built and carve themselves a niche among the two rocky hills, the Dragone river and its quiet beach; much to be preferred to that of overcrowded Amalfi.
Atrani is located in the heart of Amalfi Coast: 4 minutes walk from Amalfi, 20 minutes by bus from Ravello, 40 minutes from Positano, one hour and half from Pompeii, Herculaneum and Paestum and 2 hours from Naples. Atrani has got a quiet beach. At only 10 minutes walk there is another beautiful beach accessible by 100 steps. Moreover in Amalfi you can board small boats and reach in ten minutes romantic beaches with access only from the sea or you can choose to board ferries to Positano, Capri, Ischia, Sorrento, Salerno and Naples. The villagers are friendly and will give you a warm welcome. Join them in celebrating their many festas throughout the summer.
Worthy of mention is the presence in Atrani of six ancient churches: S. Maria Maddalena built in 1274, S. Salvatore de Birecto founded in 940 with its bronze doors created in Constantinople during 1087, S. Maria del Bando erected before the twelfth century, S. Carmine built in 1601, S. Michele Arcangelo founded in 1040 and S. Rosalia.

Guestbook
“Just wanted to say we had a marvellous time in Atrani and the owners were charming.” by Richard O'Sullivan - Cricket Coach and his family from London, September 2006.
"We have now returned from Italy and would like to thank you and your lovely parents for assisting us with our holiday. The apartment is well situated for the beach and everything was in good order. We enjoyed the festival of St Andreas in Amalfi and visited Pompei and Revello. So thanks and good luck with your summer bookings." S. & A. from London.
"Thats Atrani apartment is wonderfully situated very close to Atrani shops, restaurants and the beach. We found the local people very friendly and helpful. Amalfi (and Ravello) can be reached by walking through a picturesque series of winding passages passing houses carved into the cliffs. The views of the beautiful Amalfi coastline from the highest points of the walk are stunning. The apartment was comfortable and remained cool. S. from London"
"We are writing to say a big, big thank you to you and your mum for the fabulous week (April 2007) we spent in Atrani. The flat was in excellent order, very comfortable and so close to all amenities. Your mum gave us a friendly and happy welcome. We visited the beautiful Ravello, Capri, Pompei, Amalfi and Positano. We loved the stunning views, boat trips and lovely walks. We definitely recommend the restaurants 'Le Arcate' and 'Le Palme' in Atrani which had friendly service and served superb food! We stopped in Rome and Paris on our way back to England. We are so pleased we chose your apartment to stay in. It made our honeymoon perfect! We would very much like to return to Atrani and the Amalfi Coast in the future! :) Thank you so much! Best regards, B. and S. xx from London"
