In ancient times Praiano was part of the territory of the seafaring Republic of Amalfi and was used as a holiday resort by its powerful bishops. Le Arcate consists of part of an old 17th century villa and was probably already used in those days as a guest house for holidays. The facade is characterized by imposing columns on which the arches of the loggia rest and it is from these arches that the name of the property has come, while on one side of the house you will find a large panoramic sunbathing terrace, partly shaded and furnished for dining outside. The apartment has been carefully renovated bringing to light the niches and the old stuccoes that ornate the central part of the vaults, and is furnished with taste with valuable furniture. It is furnished with the most modern conveniences: TV, washing-machine, dishwasher, air-conditioning, stereo with CD player, barbecue, internet connection WIFI. Le Arcate offers a private, open-air car-parking space included in the price and the possibility of booking a second pay car-parking space. It lies right in the center of the village and on foot you can reach a food shop and the bus stop for the bus that links Praiano to the beach at La Praia and to Positano. The beach at La Praia is also accessible on foot and is about 700 meters away down the typical local alleyways. Distances: Positano 7 km, Amalfi 8 km, Ravello 14 km, Sorrento 24 km.

(Access to the apartment is via about 30 steps)

FIRST FLOOR: large panoramic patio from which you access the living/dining-room with double sofa-bed, kitchen, 2 double bedrooms both with access to the patio and with view of the sea, 2 bathrooms with shower, small mansard.

The Campania region

History, culture, natural beauty, crystal waters, dazzling beaches...and food to die for. Italy really does have it all. From Venice's architectural jewels in the north to Puglia's sun soaked olive growths in the south, there's something for everyone in this country of infinite variety.

Whether you choose to spend your time exploring the Adriatic Coast, with its white sands and dramatic promontories, or the gentle rolling hills of Umbria, where almost every view is reminiscent of a Renaissance painting, your time in Italy will be time well spent.

And let's not forget the Italian Lakes, whose serene and ageless splendour has beguiled visitors for centuries. As has the island charm and Sicily and Sardinia, two very different yet equally enchanting holiday destinations. Last, but by no means least, is there any other city on the planet that can match Rome for its combination of ancient history and cosmopolitan style?

Prepare to relax in the most enchanting surrounds you have ever seen...

Amalfi Coast

Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO the Amalfi Coast is home to some of the best-loved and most beautiful coastal towns in the world, Positano and her less famous sister (and all the better for that!) Praiano and the ancient town of Amalfi, the town that gives the coast its name.
