From the owner

Hillview self-catering holiday cottage near Blairgowrie, Scotland has been a home-from-home to many people over the past 20 years who have wished to explore the surrounding area. The holiday cottage is in an ideal location for visiting Perthshire, Angus, Fife, the Highlands and the Edinburgh area. This former shepherd's cottage is built in stone and is full of charm and character.

Our guests over the years have told us how much they have enjoyed sitting out in the front garden and watching the birds. You can see anything from bluetits, robins and chaffinches to woodpeckers, partridges, pheasants and various birds of prey. And there are animals too like deer, red squirrel, hedgehogs, rabbits and hares. You can even watch them from the bedroom window. In fact, some of our guests buy bird and animal food from garden centres and leave it near the window.

Don't forget to bring your camera and binoculars!

Round the back of the property there is another small garden with wild flowers, heather and a clothes line. There is also space for parking two cars.

There is a front and back door. If you enter by the front door to your right you will find the master bedroom with a king-size bed and lovely new wooden furniture. The room is south-facing and as such gets a lot of light. There is also an beautiful en-suite toilet attached to the bedroom.

The spacious lounge is to your left on entering the house – it is south-facing too, and you are welcome to light the open fire (we supply you with the first lot of coal and logs. The room has a brand new three-piece suite, there is a small collection of book as well as a flat screen TV and DVD player.

There is a limited Wi-Fi supply through a Mi-Fi hub with 2GB data available per week. This will provide frequent web browsing and email options, but data will quickly drain if used for YouTube videos or large film downloads. However if more data is required, further top-ups can be purchased. EE and Three mobile networks also provide good data coverage in the area.

The kitchen is west-facing, and has all the necessary equipment should you wish to cook and eat at home. There are 4 ceramic hobs, an oven, grill, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, round table and comfortable chairs.

Just off the kitchen there is a small hallway giving you access to the back door and large storage cupboard.

Finally, there is lovely bathroom with toilet, sink and large bath with electric shower over. It was recently fully tiled in Italian style ceramic by one of our local craftsmen.

Central heating is included in the price of the rent.
