The Vila Marachique complex is situated on the outskirts of the traditional Portuguese fishing village of Alvor. At the heart of the complex is a wonderful large lagoon style pool, together with a separate children's pool, ideal for families with young children. The pool area is surrounded by 4.8 acres of beautiful gardens offering sunbeds and shades with an area for the children to play. The complex is ideally situated to take advantage of the village facilities. You can reach some magnificent beaches and coves within a 15 minute walk of the complex.
The Alto Golf Course is almost on the doorstep, just 5 minutes drive by car. Two excellent restaurants are situated across the road from the apartment, with the village of Alvor a 1km walk away, offering numerous restaurants serving a wonderful selection of food. Not to be missed are the excellent fish restaurants serving local cuisine all taking advantage of the "daily catch" freshly landed into the local harbour.

Our privately owned luxury fitted apartment is perfect for both families and couples, described by many guests as a real "home from home" apartment. The spacious interior of the apartment is on one level leading to a large balcony accommodating a patio table and chairs for al fresco dining, while the second balcony has a lovely view of the pool. The apartment has a portable air-conditioning unit, with fans provided in all rooms.

The apartment is accessible by either lift or stairs. An intercom entry system into the apartment block is installed for added security and there are ample private car parking spaces.

The Algarve / West Algarve region


The Algarve has some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe, with endless expanses of sand contrasting with rugged coves, cliffs and caves, washed by the crystal clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean . The majority having gained EU Blue Flag recognition for their quality standards.
Venture just a few miles inland to discover the real Algarve of whitewashed houses with their ornate chimneys, and friendly people, or visit the many market towns, mountain villages, castles, nature reserves and spa towns, which can easily be managed via the excellent transport structure if you have chosen not to hire a car.
For the more adventurous there is a sport for you, golf, tennis, waterskiing, scuba diving, kitesurfing, green bowls, sailing, horse riding, windsurfing, fishing, skydiving or motor racing and many others, the choice is yours.
Equally attractive is the Algarve's all year round mild climate, enjoying micro-climate temperatures of 15C in winter through to 30C in summer.
To summarise, the Algarve is a haven of beautiful sandy beaches, sleepy fishing villages, world class golf courses, untouched mountain towns, sports and activities of every description, international marinas and year round sunshine, plus it is easily accessible from Faro Airport, making it an excellent holiday destination.
The Alvor / Marachique area
The village of Alvor nestles in a sheltered bay midway between Portimao and Lagos. Alvor is a typical Algarvian fishing village with whitewashed houses and a maze of narrow cobbled streets leading to the picturesque harbour area where you can sit and watch the fleet of fishing boats bringing home their daily catch for the numerous restaurants and cafes.
Alvor is perhaps best known for its wide sandy beach, with a Blue Flag award for safety, cleanliness and quality of facilities offered. The beach is backed by sand dunes and is ideal for sunbathing (sunbeds/shades available for hire) or the more energetic can take advantage of the watersports offered (in season).
The new race track "Autodroma Internacional do Algarve" is only a 15 minute drive from the apartment hosting the World Superbike Championships, winter F1 testing and regarded by riders and drivers as the best in the world. While for golf enthusiasts there are 7 courses within a close proximity of Alvor catering for all abilities.
If you have not visited Alvor before - why not give it a try - I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Deposit of £150 payable at time of booking with full balance due 8 weeks prior to departure.

Check in is after 3pm, and check out before 10am, although we will try to be as flexible as possible - please ask as it depends on other guests arrival/departure on that day.
