Villa Marachique is a complex on the outskirts of Alvor. It's centre piece, and the main hub of activity, is the huge swimming pool stretched across the luxurious gardens. To the left of the balcony you can see the Monchique Mountains in the distance.
The twin room has two single beds, fitted wardrobes and a balcony with a view of pool. The family bathroom comprises: bath, shower, toilet and bidet.
The furnished lounge, includes a bed settee to comfortably sleep two more persons, Sky TV, DVD, selection of books, games and DVDs. We have cots, highchairs and pushchairs available if required.
The kitchen is modern and fully equipped. Linen/towels are provided and if staying for 2 weeks there is a mid-stay linen change.
The kitchen is well equipped with a 4-ring cooker/oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, iron/ironing board and washing machine. The dining area is open plan dining with a table and four chairs.
All our balconies are solid with no gaps, but in all cases parents should be watchful of children when on the balconies.
Long term lets attract different rules: Cleaning and linen changes will be subject to a separate charge.
Short term lets (mainly out of peak times)- but please enquire as we may have gaps inbetween bookings.

The pool is open from May - mid/end October - (Please check with owners as dates may alter slightly). Important: Parents are responsible for the safety of their children at all times. It is divided in two halves - the first part being a toddler pool and the second part being the amazingly extra large pool for confident swimmers. The pool is solely for private use by Villa Marachique - pool passes are supplied by the apartment owners.

The Algarve has long been a favourite of discerning travellers, drawn by the warmth of its' people, fantastic food and wonderful climate.
The reasons for visiting this area of Portugal just keep piling up! There truly is something for everybody and something different to do every day of the week, all in the knowledge that you'll find some of the most reasonable prices in western Europe whether eating in fine restaurants or parascending over some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

The Algarve has become a by word for great golf and every major resort has a cluster of courses to suit all levels. Golfers can relax in the knowledge that those not so keen on the sport can find plenty to do until their companions return ecstatic or rueful but surely exhilarated!
Pleasantly warm in winter, the temperature rises steadily to towards the sun drenched summer. Blossom covers the ground in springtime and vivid displays of aromatic flowers can be seen along the coast. Inland green pine trees stretch for mile upon mile and later in the year orchards deliver their annual harvest of figs and oranges. Portugal is a colourful country and The Algarve has eye catching natural beauty all year round making it perfect for that winter get away.
The Alvor area
The picturesque fishing village of Alvor has a rich history dating back to pre-Roman times. It's fate changed hands many times over the centuries until finally being secured by Christians in the 13th century.All distances and measurements are approximate.
Today Alvor is renowned for it's superb beaches, either long and sandy or divided by enchanting coves. Alvor remains a working fishing community with a fish market and thriving streets based around a 16th century Church at its centre.
Bars playing live music proliferate in it's narrow streets and excellent restaurants can be found right up to the water's edge. There is also a small square which occasionally hosts local events.
Mile upon mile of some of the worlds' finest golden sandy beaches stretch along the coast of the Algarve. In our opinion Alvor has the best of these on its doorstep.
Whether you wish to stroll along the coast uninterrupted with the sand between your toes or lie back in the enchanting surroundings of a secluded cove with cliffs soaring above, you will have plenty of space to enjoy some of the cleanest coastline in europe.
All major water sports are available on Alvor beach or surrounding beaches.

The resort boasts sports facilities which include golf, tennis and horse riding.
There is a large market on the second Tuesday of every month.
Nearby Praia de Rocha is a short taxi ride away for those wishing a more frenetic evening!Please remember - places change - bars and restaurants may change hands, new amenities may open and older ones may close - please inform us if you find any of the information we have given you to be inaccurate.
Faro is very well served by flights from many UK airports on most days of the week. Flight prices can very greatly depending on season or day of the week. From our experience it is more economical to book your flights well in advance. Please note, our change over day is Saturday but some flexibility may be possible.

Rental is in Pounds Sterling and (euros are accepted) based on maximum occupancy (6 persons). There is no discount for under occupancy in peak season. A non-refundable deposit of £150 per week per apartment is required to reach us within 7 days of any verbal booking. If no deposit is received the property will be re-advertised as available.
Confirmation of your booking and balance remaiming will be given upon receipt of your deposit/booking form. The balance is due 8 weeks before you go. We will send all the information for your journey and any last minute reminders along with keys. We pride ourselves on helpfulness to all our guests.
We understand that on occasions your your plans may change and you may unfortunately be unable to take your holiday. We regret that no monies can be refunded in the event of your cancellation of the holiday - to this end we strongly suggest you take out holiday insurance with provision for cancellation.
Each property attracts a breakage deposit of £150. This amount is a precautionary deposit and will be returned in full by cheque within 14 days of departure, providing no damage or breakages have occurred during your stay.

Bookings are taken on a Saturday to Saturday basis, however flexibility will be considered. Arrival check in time is 3pm and check out time is 10am unless agreed otherwise by prior arrangement. This provides enough time for the apartment to be cleaned between guest arrivals and departures. We will endeavour to be flexible to suit flight times, where possible.We also try to be flexible if mid-week dates are required.
