Home description

Peaceful 4 bedroom apartment with stunning countryside views and distant sea views - a short walk from Didim town centre and Altinkum resort centre. Even closer by are the wide choice of bars and restaurants on Ege Caddesi - all at local prices and less than 5 minutes from the apartment.

With a lovely L shaped swimming pool in the garden and lots of roof terrace and balcony space, there is no need to go anywhere, once here. The property has sun loungers and garden furniture.

Inside the property, on the lower floor is the large lounge, dining and kitchen area, with two balconies. There is a family shower room downstairs. Two of the bedrooms are located downstairs - a twin bedroom which has an L shaped balcony and a double bedroom. Upstairs, there is another double bedroom with sliding doors onto the west facing roof terrace and a fourth bedroom with sofa bed and sliding doors onto the west facing roof terrace. Both of these bedrooms have lovely views. There is also a shower room and a second roof terrace - east facing.

The Aegean Coast region

The Aegean region of Turkey is a mixture of modern and traditional lifestyle. There are large modern cities such as Izmir and Aydin through to small old fashioned villages. A large proportion of the land is for farming so the area remains undamaged by industry.

The regions climate is superb - warm and pleasant for most of the year, but it also has a high oxygen ratio and low humidity rate, making it very advantageous to one’s health. Turkish doctors often refer patients with chest conditions to come to Didim for convalescence. Asthma sufferers and those with bronchitis will feel the benefits almost immediately.

Altinkum itself benefits from a continual light breeze, making even the warmest of hot summer days feel quite pleasant. Most of the resort faces south for maximum sunshine and here in Altinkum we experience more than 330 days of sunshine every year.

Within a short drive of Altinkum Didim, there is a wide range of places to see. All are accessible by car or by booking with a local tour operator.

New for 2009, Izmir's wildlife park has opened. The fantastic parklands home one of the widest collections of wild animals in Europe. Izmir is a 2 hour drive from Altinkum, Didim.

In Kusadasi, (less than an hour's drive) Europe's largest water park (and the 7th largest in the world) is open (Adaland) where one can swim with dolphins if splashing around and trying out the daring water shoots isnt enough fun for one day. Didim also has its own excellent water park which is accessible by local bus (dolmus). Kusadasi houses some of the countries finest luxury shops, for those with plenty of spending money or for those who like to window shop!

Bodrum is well worth a visit and can be reached by road or via a boat trip along the coast. Bodrum is a picturesque seaside resort with its own marina, castle and beaches.

Altinkum area

Altinkum means 'Golden Sands' and the resort certainly lives up to the name. There is something like 35 Km of golden sands around Altinkum, Didim . The resort of Altinkum stretches along three main beaches with many excellent restaurants, bars and shops and several night clubs. There is a harbour where fresh fish can be purchased every morning and there is Europe's second largest marina under construction (completion spring 2009).

There is a busy and lively Saturday market where you can find all sorts of bargains and fresh local produce. You will find fantastic leather goods, spices, copy designer products, Turkish delight and carpets at a fraction of the normal prices. The resort and town centre also have a wide choice of jewellers selling 22ct gold.

Altinkums position makes it an ideal base for site seeing. On the doorstep, the Temple of Apollo is a short bus ride away. Ephesus, one of the wonders of the world is a day trip and the Roman Baths at Pamukkale are wihin easy reach. Closer to Altinkum, there are several ancient Greek mythological ruins, including the attractions of Miletos and Prienne.

There is a range of nightclubs, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes.

Bafa Lake is a nature reserve a short drive from Altinkum. Bird lovers and nature enthusiasts will be in their element at Bafa Lake (don't forget to bring your binoculars!).

Horse riding, evening horse safaris, jeep safaris, scuba diving, night time fishing, fishing out at sea, water sports, quad biking, paintballing, tennis, volleyball, bowling are just some of the attractions that are available in Altinkum. How to get there

Altinkum, Didim is located between two international airports - Bodrum and Izmir, and is accessible 12 months of the year. Bodrum airport is approximately a 75 minutes drive and Izmir airport is approximately a 90 minute drive. Airport transfers can be arranged.

Flights into Izmir and Bodrum airports can be found from many different airlines, including Easy Jet, Pegasus and Flythomascook.com. Please enquire for a list of useful travel operators and websites should you need any help finding flights.

Car Hire is possible from both airports through AVIS rent-a-car or alternatively, you can rent-a-car for a part of your holiday from a travel operator in Altinkum. You will need a full valid UK driving licence to hire a car in Turkey.

The property is located at the top of a building with three apartments below. A water pump has been fitted to the properties to ensure that there is good water pressure at the property.

The property looks out over greenbelt land. As the seasons change there are beautiful views to be seen, as the farmers work the land. There are small olive groves and a poppy field. On a regular basis the shepherds herd the sheep. All of this rural attraction is to the west of the property but less than a 5 minutes walk behind the apartment (to the east) are the bright lights of Altinkum and Didim town centre.

No smoking except on the balconies and terraces.
Refundable breakages deposit of £100 required on arrival, to be refunded within one week of departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).

Non-refundable booking deposit of £100 required to secure the booking.
Balance due within 6 months of booking and before holiday or within a week of holiday - whichever is applicable.
