The Aegean Coast region
Located on the north of the Bodrum Peninsula, overlooks the beautiful Altinkum Bay with the pine trees and crystal clear blue waters gently lapping our sandy beach, and provides access to different bays with 360 degrees of breathtaking scenery. The apartment is located 100 meters to the beach and on city centre.
In the area are a host of historical sites. Ephesus, Priene, Didyma, Miletus and House of the Virgin Mary, all of which can be visited with ease from the flat ~ your natural choice for that 'special' holiday
Altinkum / Dolphin Square area
Altinkum and it's environs Many people, upon first hearing the name "Didim" referring to the place in which they are staying are quite confused. They are not even aware that Altinkum is, in fact, a part of Didim... as are Yesilkent, Mavisehir, Yenihisar and Akbuk. There are over 30 beaches in and around Didim, most of which are completely unknown to both tourists and residents alike. Many of them are little more than private, secluded bays, but they are there all the same.
Bodrum airport is just over an hour away and Izmir about an hour and a half. Typically a transfer from Bodrum will cost a family of four £40. Many cafes and restaurants will pick up and return their customers. 1 mile to Temple of Apollo 6 miles to a new water park.
There is a huge market in Didim each Saturday which will take you at least 3 visits to completely see. The local shops and restaurants offer great service and fantastic value. There are 3 good sized supermarkets nearby. English is readily understood everywhere.
There are hundreds of hotels in Didim, offering a wide range of standards from the 1-star guest house type pensions, across the board to 5-stars. Two of these are in Akbuk, another is nearing completion near to "3rd Beach" and a fourth hotel has 5-star facilities. There are many extremely good quality 3-star hotels around too. As with the hotels, there are also restaurants to be found everywhere, by the dozen. A large number of these are located on the seafront promenade and generally cater to British tastes, with even the Turkish dishes on the menus being prepared with this in mind. There are now several Chinese restauarants, a traditional Fish and Chippy, and a Balti House Indian. Most of the restaurants offer full English breakfast, for this is still extremely poplular with the tourists. For fish lovers, Didim offers several good fish restaurants, such as the "Acik" and "Kamaci", located opposite the Apollo Temple, "Kamaci 2", down by tyhe harbour, and going a bit further afield, at Tasburun, which is after the Aquapark, one can find small fish restaurants offering very fresh produce. For traditional Turkish cuisine, "Sehir Lokantasi" in Yenihisar is still the most popular, with locals and foreigners, offering a huge selection of Turkish dishes.
The night life in Didim is varied with something for everyone. There are bars where one can sit and relax and have a chat, with background music, before going on to others that offer bingo, quizzes, game shows and karaoke. For the night owls, there are the dance bars, such as "Galaxy", "Garden Bar", "Seal Bar" and "Rooftop", which stay open until 3am. Then for the dawn breakers, the nightclubs such as "Garden Bar", the open air "Medusa"
How to get there
You need to book a return flight to either Bodrum BJV, Izmir or Dalaman airports. Flights go from Heathrow, Stansted, Luton, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle and possibly more. Flying time is approx.’ 3 hour’s 20 mins. Transfers from the airport take about 1 hour 20 minutes to the apartment (3 hours from Dalaman). We can give advice on arranging the flights for you and also the transfers. Easyjet are now operating flights from Spring 08 to Dalaman airport.

Please note that the pool is a large pool and only used by 32 flats - even in the peak of summer there is rarely more than a dozen people using it - but there is no shallow end so constant supervision is required for non-swimmers. Smoking is permitted on the balconies but not indoors.
