The Aegean Coast region

Altinkum is located on the Aegean Coast; the resort has good weather for most of the year, March till April’s weather the mercury begins to rise with the temperature rising to twenty-eight Degrees, if you don’t like it hot then this is the best time to go. in the summer April till September the temperature can reach the eighties so you will need your sun screen, from early October it starts to cool a bit in December the temperature reaches eighteen degrees but it is still nice to spend Christmas in the sun and eat dinner by the beach front. Twenty minutes ride from Altinkum is the beautiful Bafa Lake; the lake covers an area of 7,000 hectares located around the lake you will find places to eat also at the lake you will find the remains of the monastery which you will be able to visit.

Altinkum / Hunters Valley area

Altinkum is a lovely place to spend a few weeks, with miles of golden beaches, waters so clear you can see the bottom and mountain views that will take your breath away. Altinkum means Golden Sands in Turkish and it lives up to its name. The sea gently slopes so it is ideal for the Children to play safely while you laze around on the beach and soak up the sun.

Numerous bars and restaurants scatter the town so you are never far from that glass of wine or a pint of beer; Pinocchio’s and Big Bens are situated along the sea front so you can gaze out to see while you have your meal or just sit and watch the sun set over the bay.

If you are up for a spot of shopping then within minutes of the beach you will come to the shopping centre which is open throughout the year but the main trade is from April to October or you can take the Dolmus (Bus) up into the main town this is where you will find the Migros (DIY) another options open to you is to take the Dolmus to Soke there you will find large markets also from there you can catch a bus to the other resorts.

You may fancy a spot of sight seeing then why not visit the marina and take a boat trip, in the summer months you can catch a boat to Bodrum and Kos for the day or you may like to take a trip to the five islands or Turtle island, the boats leave around ten in the morning and returns at five thirty in the evening the cost of this is ten English pounds and it is a great day out, included in the price is your meal you will also be able to get a drink on the boat. It stops at every island for thirty minutes and you will be able to swim safely there is also Banana Boat rides that all ages can enjoy. You may enjoy a spot of fishing this can also be done at the marina.

If you like historic places then you can’t go to Altinkum without visiting the Apollo Temple; this is the remains of Turkey History, the cost for admission is one and a half lira, once inside you will see the Lions and the Bulls Head carved in marble as well as the Temple itself.

Why not take the children to the Aqua Park in Didim, open in the summer months; inside you will activities that the whole family can enjoy from water slides to trampolines relax by the pool side while the kids tire themselves out, below are the contact details for the Aqua Park.

there is more fun for the kids in the form of the Altinkum Fun Fair which is located down by the Marina and is open through the summer months, so the kids can have a good time and can sit and watch. ITS NOT FAIR

If you don’t mind a bit of filth then why not venture further a field and visit the Mud Baths in Dalyan here you can let the animal instant take over and spend the day rolling around in mud or alternatively back in Altinkum you visit the Turkish Baths relax in the steam room and then have a nice relaxing massage.

The nightlife in Altinkum during the summer months is outstanding; all the streets are lit with traditional Turkish lanterns and are packed with holidaymakers. The bars and restaurants stay open until four in the morning, many of the restaurants and bars offer a free car service too and from your apartment, so you don’t have to worry about getting home

The Apartment has an American style kitchen which is part of the lounge. The kitchen comes with an Automatic Washing Machine, Electric/Gas Cooker, and Fridge Freezer, Table and Four Chairs. The couch is a corner unit which transforms into a double bed, the room is Air Conditioned, there is a 28 inch TV for your entertainment. There are two double bedrooms each of which has Air Conditioning. The master bedroom has a double bed which has storage underneath for sheets and blankets as well as a wardrobe in each bedroom.

The second bedroom has two single beds again with storage space for sheets and blankets The bathroom is tiled from top to bottom and comes with a Shower, Water Heater, Toilet and Sink

if you have a baby i am sorry but i not have a cot but this can be fixed in a matter of minutes, there is a company in Altinkum called Turk Maid that rents them out. I will allow pets a well-behaved dog and cat is allowed but sorry i will have to draw the line at bringing a donkey
Sorry no smoking at in the apartment but you can smoke on the balcony.
