Home description

With lounge area leading to spacious, furnished balcony, this apartment's living space is almost doubled: an ideal space to enjoy the benefits of good weather and outdoor living. With double guest room leading to the main balcony; twin room, with smaller balcony; guest bathroom with jacuzzi; the apartment is the most spacious of its type in the private complex and comfortably accommodates up to 6 people. Spacious master bedroom includes en-suite wet room. Fully furnished, double glazed, and equipped for indoor and outdoor dining, the apartment is tiled throughout for low maintenance. Main balcony overlooks the pool/ garden area and, like the apartment, is in shade until late afternoon, providing an alternative to the full sun of the pool/ sun-terrace.

The Aegean Coast region

Altinkum (Golden Sands in Turkish) is one of threes beaches serving the town of the same name, and the wide bay, with gently sloping beach, is ideal for families. With little winter to speak of, the temperature varies from a welcome 16 degrees average from October to March to a summer average of 30+ degrees. Temperatures last winter reached highs of 24 degrees in February: ideal weather to explore all the region has to offer. There are many places of historic and natural interest within easy reach of the resort, and local water-sports and aqua-park, in season, for the adventurous.

The Dilek Nature Park is a great day out to explore the local flora and fauna, and includes a bird sanctuary graced, depending on the time of year, with storks, herons, pelicans and flamingoes. The Nature Reserve at Bafa Lake, with byzantine monasteries, ancient walls, towers, and the temples of Athena and Selene, is a great day out. With spectacular scenery and walking tours to the cave paintings on the Latmos mountains; boat trips and fresh fish restaurants, you can do as much, or as little, as you choose.

Nearby ancient sites of interest include Ephesus, Miletus, Priene, Magnesia, Labranda, Euromos, to name but a few, and you can see breathtaking examples of Greek and Roman architecture.

A day in Pamukkale has something for everyone: ancient Herapolis, the cotton cliffs, and a dip in Cleopatra's thermal pool is an experience not to be missed .

The towns of Kusadasi and Bodrum can be easily reached using inexpensive and regular local buses, and there is a ferry to Bodrum twice a week during the season.

Altinkum / Dolphin Square area

The town of Altinkum/Didim is home to the Temple of Apollo, and this wonderful example of a Greek cult sanctuary is a 10 minute Dolmus (local bus) drive from the beach.

There are 2 further beaches that serve the town, one 10 minutes walk past the end of the promenade (2nd beach), and 3rd beach is a 10 minute walk from the harbour.

You can also spoil yourself with a visit to one of the local hamams (Turkish Bath): a great way to relax and boost the suntan!

There are numerous restaurants along the prom and the main road, and they cater to every taste. The promenade is lively in the evenings, with bars offering entertainment from belly dancing to traditional folk dancing and the not-so-traditional break-dancing!

Along the harbour there are Gulets (traditional wooden boats) offering daily trips along the beautiful coastline-lunch included: the best way to see the beautiful coastline, beaches and bays, and relax or swim as the mood takes you.

Bodrum and Izmir have frequent charter arrivals in season (April to October), and transfers take 1 hour 15 minutes/ 1 hour 30 minutes respectively.Currently off season scheduled flights (November to April) come into Izmir. Due to increasing demand, there is talk of opening Bodrum airport all year, and we will ammend our information in the event that this happens.

Private transfers can be arranged at time of booking and rates are as follows:

Bodrum- 2 adults 40 GBP, and 5 GBP for each additional passenger (4 GBP for children under 12)
Izmir- 2 adults 45 GBP, and 10 GBP for each additional passenger (5 GBP for children under 12)

Transfer Alternatives: There are taxis available at the airport and rates are typically 60GBP and 90 GBP from Bodrum and Izmir respectively. Please agree the fare with a licensed driver before you travel.


Car Hire: there are numerous agents operating in the airports and the town, and prices are typically 25 GBP per day. Please bring your full driving licence (paper and plastic copies), and check that the car has fully comprehensive insurance. This can be an ideal way to independently explore the many delights within easy reach of Didim/ Altinkum.

Kitchen with granite worktops and fitted units is fully equipped, and includes the dining area. The adjoining, comfortable lounge area also has a welsh dresser containing a variety of films/ CDs, and information about local places of interest.

The master bedroom has 5-door wardrobe/ bed-side cabinets and a dresser; double room has 3-door wardrobe and bedside table; twin room has 9- drawer merchants' chest and matching storage chest

All rooms include sun-screens and net curtains

The spacious pool/ sunbathing area is fringed with ornamental planters. The children's' pool adjoins the main pool and is easily observed from any point on the sun-terrace and the apartment's main balcony. *Please note that there is no life-guard for pool area and the main pool has no shallow end. The pool area/ garden is gated, and is for the exclusive use of apartment owners and their rental clients. The pool/ garden area is maintained and patrolled by night security, and has sunbeds/ parasols. In the early morning the pool is in shade, thereafter it is in full sun until the evening. The pool is cleaned nightly between the hours of 7pm and 7am.

Conditions

We require a 100 GBP deposit against major breakages/cancellation at time of booking- fully refundable at the end of your holiday.- 50% of your rental payment is due immediately as deposit, with the remainder + 100 GBP (against breakages/ damages) due 4 weeks before departure, or in full if the booking is last-minute. In the event of cancellation the deposit is non-refundable if the apartment cannot subsequently be let for the normal seasonal rate.

Payment to be made by bank transfer (details given at time of booking) and e-mail confirmation will be sent when deposit/ fees are received. Deposits are 50% of the total booking fee, and the balance + 100 GBP (refundable- against breakages/damages) is due 4 weeks prior to arrival. In the event of late booking, full payment plus 100 GBP (against breakages/ damages) is payable immediately. In the event of cancellation, the initial deposit (50%) will be forfeit unless the apartment is subsequently let for the full seasonal rate.

This is a non-smoking apartment, and we ask that all smoking be confined to the balcony areas. In the event that you book and smoke inside, you will be charged, from your deposit, for cleaning of all soft furnishings.

The cost of preparing the apartment for your use, and housekeeping following your stay, is included in the price. If the apartment requires more than standard housekeeping following your stay, you may be charged for any additional costs incurred.

The apartment is equipped for a maximum of 6 people, and in the event that more guests are know to have stayed, you will be charged the additional nightly rate per person.

Cot and High-chairs can be provided at the flat rate of 10 GBP (plus 10 GBP deposit) per item per week.

*Please note that summer season is the period from May-October. Outwith this period the pool may not be filled and available for use, and this is reflected in the reduced tariff.
