The Aegean Coast region
The Aegean Coast has turquoise seas and golden sands to make it a beach lovers paradise. The surrounding area is very beautiful and close to many interesting places to visit such as 'The Apollo Temple', one of the Ancient Seven Wonders of the World, (definitely worth a visit) a little further afield are the historical ruins of 'Ephesus' and the dazzling and frozen waterfalls of 'Pamukkale'. If you are one not to go too far there are also boat trips, horse riding, markets and Aqua Park, all within easy reach by walking, car or the very cheap local bus (Dolmus).
The climate on the Aegean Coast is very warm, reaching temperatures of around 30 centigrade in summer.
The Altinkum / Didim area
Altinkum means 'Golden Sands', and the 3 beaches provides just that, along with shallow waters to make it an ideal place for children. Royal Marina is close to a smaller beach which is 5 mins walk, but has a restaurant which runs a free mini bus to pick you up and drop you back after sunbathing.
The seafront area is pedestrianised and has a large selection of shops, bars and restaurants offering cuisine to suit all tastes. There is also a good nightlife which includes something for everyone to enjoy.
For a short drive or bus ride you can visit local areas such as Akbuk, a tiny fishing village surrounded by olive trees or Akkoy, a traditional Greek style village. There is a market in Didim every Saturday to 'haggle' for some bargins. To top up your tan there are daily boat trips, 'The 5 Stop Boat Trip' come highly recommended for around £6-£10 per adult.

a great appartment on a great complex for all ages we ranged from 6 to 50 appartment had everything you needed to make stay like home from home the staff at the complex bar/restraunt were fantastic with the children and adults alike very friendly and helpfull nothing was too much trouble. The location was very good for us 15 min walk to beach and bars we would definately stay here again |

My husband and I spent 2 weeks at the Royal Marina in Apartment D1 - which seems to be in the best position on the Royal Marina Complex. Lovely spacious apartment; very comfortable with just about everything you need provided for you. Nice size kitchen with everything you need to enable you to cook for yourself. Washing Machine and iron and an ironing board included - for those who don't want to pay for extra luggage allowance. Hairdryer and straightner provided. TV & DVD with access to British channels and films - so you don't have to miss the soaps. Air conditioning in living room and bedroom - at no extra charge. Lovely large balcony - big enough for two sun loungers and a table and four chairs. Two really nice swimming pools plus a childrens pool. The complex is very clean and within comfortable walking distance to the town/ shopping areas and the beaches. Mehmet (complex manager) is very professional and is always happy to provide assistance. He deals with all queries immediately. Enjoyed the holiday so much I have just booked a four week holiday for next year. Peter and Helen Newberry (owners of apartment) are very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend this property on this very nice complex.
