About the home

Luxury two-bedroomed duplex penthouse apartment sleeps 4 people, overlooking pool. Fully air conditioned throughout. Two floors with 2 large balconies, both of which overlook the pool. There is an open plan kitchen/lounge/dining area with doors leading on to the large balcony area. The bedrooms have black out curtains and blinds as the sun is on the apartment all day (so you can still have a sleep in if you want!) The second balcony (off of the bedrooms) is in the shade.

There are two single beds in the two bedrooms, which open on a balcony with patio table and chairs
Bathroom/shower. The main bedroom also has a fold away bed. There is also a cot and highchair.

This apartment has been furnished to a high standard to include bar stools in the kitchen, and washing machine plus the usual items, i.e. TV DVD player, TV, fridge, cooker, toaster, microwave, kettle, iron and ironing board, clothes airer.

Top floor opens onto a balcony consisting of patio table and six chairs plus two sun beds and an outside shower (hand held).

* Also a toilet/wash basin on top floor.

The Aegean Coast region

Altinkum is as lively or as quiet as you can make it , with over 50 bars, 10 disco's, 60 restaurants, I'm sure you will find something to your liking.

There is a new Marina opening on the 29th May 2009, being the largest on the Aegean Coast. It is within a bus ride of the apartment and also within walking distance.

There are 3 beaches, the main one and the second and third beaches are each side of the main one within 15 minutes walk.

Altinkum beach resort is located on the Aegean coast between Bodrum and kusadasi Holiday resorts. Altinkum is vastly becoming bigger and more popular every year with the season lasting longer then ever before, restaurants / bars opening throughout the season. Altinkum is truly a 'Turkish Jewel' in the crown. friendly atmosphere 'laid back' locals and welcoming attitudes towards tourists.

Altinkum means 'golden sands' and when you see the beaches you'll know exactly how it got its name, being one of the best beaches on the Aegean coast, crystal clear turquoise sea that gently shelves. Altinkum beach is ideal for children with Flag system and lifeguards in place. The main life in Altinkum is spent how you desire, around pools, along one of 3 beaches sunbathing, sipping Turkish tea in the local cafe's, shopping in the bazaar, haggling at Didim market, or taking a daytrip to one of many exciting places.

*5 Stop Boat Trip*
A chilling-out day trip, calm and crystal blue waters. Sea breeze to cool you down (if you're lucky!), beautiful views around the Aegean coat. Boat trips from Altinkum run every day. You have the opportunity to ride on the doughnuts and banana boats as they follow you around, together with the ice cream boat. Lunch is included and it is a nice day out. - RECOMMENDED BY EVERYONE THAT HAS BEEN ON IT.

*Ephesus – The Ancient Roman City*
Explore the well preserved archaeological site of the Roman Empire. Ephesus is the best preserved classical city of the Eastern Mediterranean and among the best places in the world enabling one to genuinely soak in the atmosphere of Roman times. The trip to Ephesus is also available on a package trip including Pamukkale.

*Pamukkale*
Pamukkale which is unique in the world with its cascading water from the cliffs forming crystallised, daggling white and frozen waterfalls. The thermal waters have been used for therapeutic treatments since the Roman period. Enjoy the therapeutic hot spring waters.

*Jeep Safari*
An adventurous day out on four wheel drive vehicles. Taking you through olive groves and hillsides to other turquoise bays for swimming. See the little typical Turkish villages where you will experience the true Turkish living. Pop on your old clothes as you will get soaked and covered in dust, really exciting and full of adventure. RECOMMENDED BY EVERYONE THAT HAS BEEN ON IT - (check it out first before taking children on it)

*Adaland Aqua Park*
Have yourselves a splash fantastic day out. It is a must for the whole family. This aqua park is one of the largest in Turkey with lots of different slides for all. Dare you try the 'Black Hole' and the 'Kamikaze'. It also includes a large wave pool and all pools/slides are supervised by life guards.

*Altinkum Aqua Park*
This water park is just outside of Altinkum, set on a hill on the way to Soke market. Not as big as Adaland Aqua Park but only 10 minutes up the road on the Dolmus.

*Fishing boat trip*
Organised by Taffy's British Boat, every Tuesday and Saturday from 5pm to 8pm. Fishing rods reels and bail supplied. Sail to calm waters and catch some of the splendid fish the Aegean seas hold.

*Turkish Bath*
A Turkish bath is one of the nicest and most relaxing things that you can go and do whilst in Turkey. Starting with a lovely sauna where you feel like you are going to pass out eventually from the heath, to the warmed marble table where you receive first your rub down to get rid of old skin (ideal to start your tanning off) and then on to the soap foam massage where you feel like telling the guy never to stop. You can also have a head shampoo massage and after some relaxation time, the oil massage which is to die for. An experience never to be forgotten - FANTASTIC

*Scuba Diving*
If you would like to explore the underworld of the sea, then why not go diving. It doesn’t matter whether you are experienced or not, as all dives are supervised by professional and qualified diving instructions (but do check).

*Horse Safari*
Altinkum has its own horse ranch called Pegasus. They are situated near 3rd beach with approximately 10 stables. Pegasus offers horse safari trips along several paths in idyllic surroundings, you will end up by the sea where you can cool off, swim and enjoy lunch.

The Dolmus (bus) runs frequently (every 3-5 minutes) along the main street at a cost of 1.25 lira. There are bus stops situated along the road, but if you are not at a bus stop, all you need to do is put your hand out and the bus will stop. It then takes about 3 minutes to reach the beach or any other place you want it to stop. You can get on and off the bus opposite the Panormos Hotel, if you walk down the side of the hotel or turn right at the roundabout, Sunflower Apartments are about 100 metres away.

The supermarket is a 2 minute walk down the road from the Panormos Hotel providing you with your daily needs and much more.

The beach is a 20 minute stroll down the strip which is lined with bars, restaurants and shops.

Altkinkum is approx. 1 hour 15 minutes from Bodrum Airport and approx. 1 hour 30 minutes from Izmir Airport.
Transfers can be arranged from Bodrum Airport at a cost of around £25 for 2 people.
