Golden Park is the largest apartment complex in Altinkum and is arguably the best. Due to the numerous facilites available on site, Golden Park is suitable for families as well as couples and groups of friends. Altinkum offers relaxed beach-side restaurants, lively nightlife, good shops, excursions to ancient monuments and natural wonders, chilling boat trips, a nearby water park and busy markets. Of course, you might not want to leave the pool!

The Aegean Coast region
The Northern Aegean coast is mostly a holiday location for Turks. To the south, where Altinkum is located, the climate improves, the season lengthens, the water temperature increases and it is here that many foreign tourists choose to take their holiday in the sun. Places to visit within easy travelling distance from my apartment include Bodrum, Kusadasi, the ancient ruins of Ephesus and Pamukkale (see more about these below).
Altinkum / Didim area
Altinkum translates to 'Golden Sands'. With three gorgeous, wide sandy beaches it is easy to see how it got it's name. A week's holiday here can be spent relaxing on these beaches, visting the new nearby water park or eating out by the pool or at one of the numerous beach side restaurants. Golden Park is more relaxed than other major resorts nearby, such as Bodrum or Kusadasi, but it is still possible to club into the early hours at one of several lively night spots. There is also ample opportunity to spend hours haggling with store holders at Altinkum's covered shopping centre or at the local market. This takes place every Saturday. Excursions, which can be booked for you by Golden Park's receptionist, go to cosmopolitan Bodrum or glitzy Kusadasi. Those interested in local history can visit Ephesus, one of the largest and best preserved sites of Roman ruins anywhere in the world. It is also possible to go on the unforgettable 2 day 'double delight' trip, which takes in Ephesus as well as Pamukkale - 'one of the most extraordinary natural wonders in Turkey'.
How to get there
Fly to Bodrum Airport. Transfers can be arranged for you to be taken to Golden Park apartments. 2 people £25 for both (one way). Any additional passengers will be charged at £7.50 per person (one way). Under 2's free. Lots of charter flights go to Bodrum airport from regional airports. Ideas include www.xl.com, Goldtrail Travel, Thomas Cook, www.A1travel.com. You can also hire a car or get a taxi directly from the airport, but most people opt for the transfers to be arranged for them. Transfer time approx. 1hr 15mins. It is also possible to fly to Izmir airport. In this case, transfers are £50 each way for 2 people, with each extra passenger travelling for £7.50 each way.

Further details indoors: The first thing you notice is how well appointed and maintained the complex and apartment are. The pool area at Golden Park is laid out with marble flooring and this continues as you go up the stairs to my flat. There is an army of on-site workers who sprinkle the communal garden area on a daily basis - ensuring that the grass is permanently lush and green - and regularly hose down the floor of the pool-side seating and dining area. The lving space in the apartment has Italian terracotta tiling and the bathrooms are fully tiled to contemporary luxury standard. The apartment is also very spacious.
Further details outdoors: The complex has a large pool, a children's pool and a jacuzzi, as well as an on-site bar/restaurant and shop. The complex has 24 hr security and is manned by a friendly English speaking receptionist who will be delighted to arrange excursions for you. A courtesy bus is available to take you down to the beach and back three times a day.

Conditions
A 25% non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking. The rest is payable four weeks before departure, unless the booking is made at the last minute. A £50 refundable deposit (to cover any potential breakages) is also required. This will be returned once the flat has been checked by a representative of my Turkish agency.
